What did you absolutely hate about CBR?

We stayed there last October. We absolutely fell in love with the resort. The rooms are a bit bigger than the other mods (340 sq ft vs 314). Dual sinks in the vanity area, and a privacy curtain were welcome touches. We were in Trinidad North, and enjoyed the walk to the food court. We are staying there again in October and are requesting a room in Jamaica.

Mousekeeping was wonderful, no towel animals, but they did place our DDs stuffed animals in various locations in the room and once in the window to greet us. Extra coffee for the in room coffee pot - no problem. Extra bedding for the air mattress I brought for DD - no problem. (there were 4 of us in the room DH, DS, DD and me).

The kids enjoyed chasing the geckoes down the sidewalks. Our room had a view of a gorgeous courtyard.

My one complaint was the bus service COMING BACK from Epcot. We left Epcot at about 4 in the afternoon and ended up having to wait almost an hour for a bus back to CBR. The bus service TO the parks was timely and not overcrowded (we were there during a non-peak time). We rented a car, so we did use that more to get to the parks (rental car + disability permit for my disability = pretty decent parking). It actually works out better if we rent a car, as we can get back to the room as needed.

We enjoyed the food court. One of the stations has a very good chicken caesar salad that will easily feed two adults for around $6.50. The pizza was nothing to write home about, but it is food court pizza, so what can one expect?

The resort was very family friendly, but I could see where a young newly married couple could also find it romantic.

When we were trying to decide where to stay for our trip this year, we decided that since we loved CBR so much, why mess with a good thing!

I've stayed at both CBR and CSR and prefer CSR hands down. CBR was the first mod at Disney so that is why we stayed there several times. While I wouldn't say hate, I don't like the fact the check in/registration/guest services is seperate from the Food Court and store. I like having all those ammenities in one place. Kill a few birds with one stone so to speak. It is also a pain to get a taxi at CBR since you have to take a bus or make a trek to The Custom House. I'm not keen on what they've done to Old Port Royale. The food court seems even more chaotic than it was originally. I prefered the old seating with its seperate multi-layered seating areas. It made it a little more cozy.
It is really too bad that they can't divide the bus service between the north and south sections of CBR. It would cut down on bus stops. That is a big turn off at the end of the day having to make 7 bus stops around the resort.

We had quite a hike to the food court, but it was not that bad. Some mornings I would get up early and take the mugs and pick up a few things for my husband and I and bring them back to the room. Then we would start our day and grab the bus.

I did not mind the walk because it was so beautiful to get to the food court. :goodvibes

I have to say that I loved the hammocks! How great is it to walk out of your room and hop in a hammock!

It was May when we went and seemed to be less busy so I did not notice too much nice. And I did not notice any bus problem.

But after staying at both CBR and CSR, I would go back to CSR first.

Either place, you will have a fabulous time.

We stayed at CBR for our honeymoon in 1996. It was so pretty. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. I do think now that we have little kids I would want to be closer to the food court and the main pool. At the time I loved being father away.

I am with everyone else....the resort is just so large! The first time we stayed there we had to drive to the food court. The second time we stayed there, it was about a 15 min walk to it. The main pool is a little too small as well, but we could see the fireworks from our quiet pool, so that made up for it.

One thing I forgot to mention (this goes out to my fellow lushes) is the pool bar! I enjoyed the CBR pool bar very much! The bartenders were great! I met some really cool people from all around the states, it was really nice! The drinks were great too! Best part was having a few drinks and watch kids get sprayed by the watercannons...:p

The one thing I hated probably could happen at any value or moderate. We were on the second floor on the corner. When kids ran down the walkway, it vibrated up the wall. Also, there steps across from our room. Everynight around 11:00, there would be banging noises. I looked out and it was people dragging a stroller up the steps.

having to take a bus to food court. We were too far away from everything. Beautiful but too spread out.

Paying for a view that wasn't a view at all; the long, long walk to the bus stop, car, and main pool; and the crowded buses. Other than that, we enjoyed the resort and would return if the only other option was a value resort.
