What did WE celebrate? .. 30 days of Disney fun and food! Update 04/02

This is so much fun for me because it is the closest I will ever get to a Cruise!

Great pictures, Karin! :)

Brightens up a dull day in NC too! :thumbsup2

Food, glorious food. :goodvibes

:yay: That's what I like to hear! :goodvibes

That settles it- next time I am sending my kids to the teen beach and going to Serenity Bay- it all looked divine!!:cloud9:

If you are after a little piece of heaven - Serenity Bay is just for you!
Honestly, you would love it there! Quiet, drinks being served to you, NO line for the BBQ!!! and crystal clear waters - it is divine!

This is so much fun for me because it is the closest I will ever get to a Cruise!

Great pictures, Karin! :)

I am glad you enjoy them! Maybe, just maybe we can convince you to come with us one day! :thumbsup2

It would not be much for you, Tom and whoever (or is that whom??) else was along because I'd be terrified to be alone for even a minute!!! Fear of heights and deep water - not a great match for a cruise! :rotfl: We'd have to find me a very understanding roommate! Oh, and I'd want a veranda, which makes no sense whatsoever. :confused3

Although I do want 2011 to be a year of new adventures, just not sure I am quite that adventurous!!

Believe me, I do understand what you mean. I am not very comfortable with heights myself. I have a feeling something is drawing me down and I completely freeze at times and then I booked a stateroom on deck 10 on the Dream! Go figure! :lmao:
But I can't think of a cure for fear of heights AND deep water ...... hm, maybe Sophia can do the trick one day! ;)

But I am all for the new adventures in 2011, whatever they may be!

Still Day 18, August 31

Disney Wonder - Pinocchio's Pizzeria

So, after we got back on the WONDERful Disney WONDER and got settled in again, we needed something to keep us "afloat" until dinnertime.

So our first stop was Pinocchio's Pizzeria.

IMG_7061.jpg

And yes, before you ask ......... there were 4 pieces of pizza, but it smelled so nice, I had a piece before I remembered to take a photo! ;) :lmao:

Now, left on the plate ARE, 2 pieces of Pepperoni Pizza, which were very nice and one of two pieces of Vegetarian Pizza, which were equally nice! ;)

Next up - Disney Wonder - Goofy's Galley

Disney Wonder - Goofy's Galley

We took the food back to our stateroom and we picked up a plate full of wraps.

This time I did NOT forget to take the photo before eating! ;)

IMG_7064.jpg

Tuna salad wrap - very nice, tasty, well seasoned tuna salad!

IMG_7065.jpg

Vegetable wrap - lots of well cooked, still crunchy veggies, unfortunately underseasoned and bland and far too cold!

IMG_7066.jpg

Shrimp salad wrap - again, nice and tasty, but served too cold too!

Next up - Disney Wonder - Pirate dinner at Parrot Cay

Happy New Year to you & Tom!!!!!

Thank you, Kat! I hope the new year hold nothing but wonderful memories for you!

Great pix of Castaway Cay !!! That Pizza lokks yummy!!!

Happy New Year to you both !!!

Thank you, Rosie! I am sure that it's going to be a good year - we are going to meet you in August!! :woohoo:

Still Day 18, August 31

Disney Wonder - Pirate dinner at Parrot Cay

After delivering more Fish Extender presents we headed we got ready for Pirate's Night ........ Arrrrh!!

We were happy to see Teresa and Mickey again and they told us about their Nassau excursion, which had turned out to be just as we had described it! :lmao:

Then it was on to the food!

IMG_7082.jpg

There was some Pigeon Pea Relish to start with, unfortunately we did not like it very much :sad2:

IMG_7090.jpg

Yummy bread basket!

And the drinks were yummy too!

IMG_7086.jpg

IMG_7087.jpg

Captain’s Treasure, Absolute Mandarin, Peach Schnapps and Orange Juice :thumbsup2

IMG_7088.jpg

Rusty Anchor, Midori, Captain Morgan Rum, Passion Fruit and Cranberry Juice :thumbsup2

What else need I say about the drinks? :rotfl2:

IMG_7092.jpg

I started my Pirate Dinner with Blackbeard’s Jumbo Crab Cake with a fruit Salsa and Honey-Lime Tropical Coleslaw. Very good!

IMG_7094.jpg

Tom ordered the Pirates Golden "Pot Stickers", Oriental Pork "Dumplings" deep fried and served with a Tamarind-Ginger soy sauce and Pickled Vegetables. These were very good too! Tom loved them!

IMG_7097.jpg

IMG_7099.jpg

Alex, the server, recommended the Treasure-of-the-Seas Grilled Shrimp and Seared Scallops served on strings of pasta and fresh creamy tomato sauce. And he was right, the spaghetti with the well spiced tomato sauce were the perfect side dish for the scallops and shrimp!

IMG_7095.jpg

IMG_7100.jpg

I ordered Jack Sparrow’s Barbecue Marinated Beef Short Ribs, Rubbed beef short ribs with tamarind-barbecue sauce served with onion red bliss mashed potatoes and plantain chip. The short ribs fell off the bone and the mash was tasty and creamy, but I didn't care for the plantain.

We had a fun evening and the conversation with Teresa and Mickey was fun but it was time for dessert.

We actually decided on the same dessert, recommended by Alex, the server, again!

IMG_7108.jpg

We both ordered the The Calypso Ice Cream Sundae, Rum and Raisin Ice Cream, Caribbean Cake and a Rum Caramel Sauce. Now, I ask you, what can go wrong with Ice-cream, rum and caramel ........... NOTHING! It was absolute bliss!

We finished dinner late and it was already time for the Pirate Party!

Next up - Disney Wonder - Pirate dinner at Parrot Cay

I am glad you like the update!

Good thing is, we share our plates! Best of both worlds for both of us! :lmao:

The dessert, even though I would not have picked it without the recommendation, was really, really good! :thumbsup2

I just caught up on your dining report! Let me just tell you i'm having a very fun time reading it!

But I am wondering... did you guys ever get sick of eating so much food?! I probably would have not been able to handle it by like day 5.

That looked like a yummy meal! Happy 2011! :goodvibes

Happy 2011 to you too, Tina! As much as we enjoyed that meal on the Wonder, we are so looking forward to our 3 cruises on the Dream THIS summer! ;) :goodvibes

Oh, and you DO NOT have to eat up everything! ;)

Disney Wonder - Pirate Party dessert buffet

We finished dinner late and it was already time for the Pirate Party!

The party was already in full swing when we arrived. We found a good spot and watched how the pirates took over the party and Mickey saved the day!

Right after he had saved us all, the fireworks at sea went off!

It's great fun to watch the fireworks, which are quite impressive and watch out for other cruise ships that are "accidentially" anchoring quite close to the Disney ship! ;) :lmao:
I wonder why? Maybe because Disney IS the only cruiseline that does fireworks at sea? ;)

When the fireworks were over they opened the "Pirate buffet".

Having just eaten dinner, our eyes were bigger than our stomachs, so we took most of the desserts on our plates back to our stateroom, to have for breakfast.

And this is what we found in our room upon entering!
