What determines when YOU visit WDW???

We have no kids so school is not a factor and we prefer the off season. We have been to WDW in September, October and December. Late October is my favorite, but this year we are going in November because DH does not want to be in WDW for Halloween, since we traditionally host a pizza party that night and we only missed it once--we were in WDW on Halloween during our honeymoon.

We schedule our time at the World around our work schedule. My daughter is grown and has a daughter of her own, so we go whenever, pretty much, we have several days off with nothing planned. We tend to like the late winter or fall time, as it is much cooler then. Lines are low, the parks aren't as crowded.

We have to schedule our trips around work. DH has a snowplowing business, so we can't travel anywhere between November and mid-April. I work in an elementary school, so we have to factor in school vacations. So right now we go to WDW during the times everyone says not to go- April vacation week and the summer- we have a great time despite the crowds- hey we're in WDW:D

We go whenever the mood strikes us. We also go for the holidays, family celebrations, etc.

Personally, I love WDW on NYE ~ it is one of my favorite times :)

We go when we can save enough money to do it right. This usually takes us about 15 months or so. We prefer to go when it's cooler and low crowds. This time, it's fallen so that we can go near Christmas. I can't wait. Mickey

We like September, and have been there in early September the last four trips. It's still a little hot, but we can handle it, esp. with the low crowds. We're going to try October next year, for MNSSHP, then early December the next time for the decorations.

Dh and I went in February once before children and found it a little too damp and chilly to swim, though much warmer than back home.

When the kids get older-- and maybe go out to high school-- ds wants to go to military school-- I guess our plans will have to change. We'll have to go without them! Just kidding.

I base my trips around the love bugs. Well not really but my normal times to go are May and September, love bug season. I like off season and the off season crowds. May is starting to become my favorite time even though it's a tad more crowded than September. Gotta love those Flower Power concerts!

September is a great month too. My birthday is in September and there's no place better to celebrate it than WDW! :D

I am self-employed (Realtor) and my husband is a firefighter with a one day on/two days off schedule...so we are able to go pretty much anytime we would like. We used to do summers only because of my older DD (she's now 19, in college and doesn't travel with us as much) but my younger DD is in half day senior kindergarten this year, so we still feel we can sneak her out of school a few days each year.

Anyway...we have gone in January 02...it was great!! December 02, low crowds but rained a lot!!! And this year we are trying September. Hopefully all the talk I hear of "no crowds in September" will be true!!

My work schedule is a big factor. Since I teach, I can only really go during the summer, so we choose August so we can save as much as possible before the trip.

School makes fall hard. And fall is the best.

I'm a teacher in England so have to have my holiday during the 6 weeks we have off at the end of July until the first week in September. If we are going to America we tend to go away during the last 2 weeks of our holidays as a lot od your schools ahve gone back then so it is not as crowded. It does mean though that we always have to travel during the most expensive time!!

Hi! I think it's great that you want to come all the way from England! I have been to Disneyworld in September and it was really nice. the weather pops an occasional rain shower on you but it's nothing that a lightweight rain poncho won't take care of.

I don't know about the crowds being low in September though!
seems with school being year round in so many states now that it's a little more crowded then it used to be. Fall and winter are my two favorite seasons (strange huh?) so we've been in both September and October.

Hope you have a fantastic time and be safe!

We use the following criteria (in no particular order):

1) Value season/Special deals in effect for certain dates
2) Special Events happening in the World
3) School/Work commitments
4) Weather (DW has trouble with high heat/humidity)
5) Availability of desired resort property

it used to be we went whenever there was a good deal.

however, i am starting school in the fall, so now it's only the holidays for us. :(

I can't take DH out of school! He teaches hs! We've been limited to Feb and April and Christmas school breaks for a long time. Then I started going to a conference in Oct. and once again (perhaps for the last time) will be taking DS out of school, older DD is skipping some college classes, and (ever so out of character) DH is taking one personal day to join us at WDW for a long weekend. I love October for warm weather and the F&W Festival, and MNSSHP.

I look forward to DH's retirement from school -- he could retire in 3 years with 35 years of teaching -- so we can join folks in early December and discover MVMCP!

teacher's convention- so the kids only miss 2-3 days of school

I wish we had year round school and could go more often!

I hate crowds and heat and don't think I could stand the summers.
