It all depends on your perspective, I guess. Those of us who are retired, semi-retired, or otherwise able to sit here on the DIS amd muse about Mickey are very, very fortunate.

But with unemployment at 10% (and that doesn't count people who have given up looking, which is probably an equal or greater number), and events like the never-ending fiasco in the Gulf States, I'm sure there are folks who could come up with something worse than missing Disney.

This is a tongue in cheek thread and meant to be fun. Sorry if I offended anyone.

Well, sitting at your desk dreaming of being in your DVC resort pool and then being called into your boss's office and told you're being let go, even though you did a "terrific job", but business is bad, etc. etc. etc. might be worse. That's what happened to DH today. Nevertheless, we're going to be floating in SAB in a little more than a month. After that we'll figure out what to do next.

Tnak you - I took your original post in the tongue in cheek spirit it was intended. These boards are just a good place to vent and find like-minded souls. Not everyone in the "real' world understands why you would take off for WDW in the midst of times like these!

. . . having a significant amount of points banked and another set of points coming next month with no trip planned or booked. We just returned from vacation so planning another is the farthest thing from DH's mind. Meanwhile, I'm dying to book something with our newly purchased DVC points.

Being a True Disney Freak...and not being able to feed your addiction....thank goodness for Ipods and a DH who loves Disney (although not in the creepy way I do). I mean it is 2:04 a.m. central time, and I am here....amongst friends.
