What colour theme is your bedroom now?

Black furniture, white curtains over colonial windows, light light light gray tile and hooker red walls!! :earseek:

Tan/taupe walls, warm wood bed and armoire, duvet cover is denim (hope to change that eventually), pillows and bedskirt are a variety of patterns with green, tan, and burgandy.

When we build our new house it will be pretty much the same. I'm going to convince my mom to sew me a new duvet so the denim will be gone.

I am still "in the process" of redecorating my bedroom. I have a queen-size log bed with log nightstand. The comforter/sheets have a cream background with moose/bear/trees/canoes printed in dark green/burgundy/black. The curtains are dark green/cream checkerboard print, as is the round table cover. I plan to replace the carpet with a neutral berber, and paint the walls cream. I have garlands of pine needles/pinecones to wrap around the headboard, with twinkle lights, and plan to put a Birch tree in one corner of the room. I have an alpine tree that I plan to have lit and decorated with "up north" decorations, and I have lots of loon pictures, accessories, a loon lamp, etc. I still need a log dresser. Oh, and I have a loon wallpaper border to put along the top of the walls. I can "see it all" in my mind, I just have to finish it and I'm a big procrastinator....so....who knows when it will ever get finished.

White walls, beige carpet. Last place it was wood floor, military-beige walls. Hopefully will be military-beige at the next place, too! I'm tired of apartment living!

your walls must be plastered, my walls are still not painted either, but my dh wants all white walls, said he paid to much for th swirl design plaster to cover it with a color.... the carpet is navy blue (have to sweep everyday) and i also have a nautical design going on...i love lighthouses so thats what accents the room.adjascent bathroom is the same...but we have slate gray and blueish ceramic tile in there.

I don't understand.... why can't you paint yet??

I was always told that you shouldn't decorate the walls of a new house for the first year due to the walls drying out as shrinkage occurs, leaving cracks in the plaster.

as a bulder and painter with over 20 yrs experience in the business imho you shuold be able to paint or decorate, yes you might bget a few cracks in the plaster later, or a line of sheetrock tape may turn loose or a nail may pop, but ,, the contractor should have acclimated the house before turning it over which would have given a bit of that time to happen,, also should have allowed everrything to cure, if he did nt, and didnt finsh the walls by painting them hes risking allowing unsealed plaster and rock to absorb moisture etc, paint is more than coloring, its a barrior to help keep moisture etc from damaging walls, even if it was a bare white, al walls should have been finished, imho. anyway, for what its woirth, as a master carpenter and painter, i would have to have some explaination in writing frrom contractor to tell me why i wasnt painting:)

I've lived in 2 brand new houses and have seen the cracked plaster appear in the first year so have always waited. There's always too much to do anyway without wanting to decorate! :)

We have custom made built in wardrobes and a dressing table in an off white. The carpet is a deepish pink.

The wallpaper is very pale cream/white with a very discreet stripe.

Our duvet and matching pillow slips are a pale cream, pink and green.

A very simple colour scheme.:D

It's very relaxing too. :sunny:

Beige walls. Our bedroom is the only room in the house that we haven't painted since our house was built in 1986. All the nail pops and drywall taping imperfections are still there. I just haven't gotten around to painting the room.

There is a queen size Amish made quilt hanging on one wall. So at least the room isn't completely bland.

The bottom of the wall is beige called bagel the top as a palm tree motif the border between is a beach scene with a small boat we have tropical plants (fake) with christmas lights on them. I also have palm tree candle holders with a dead parrot (think monty python) on my tree:fish:
