What cell phone do you have and are you happy with it?

I need a new cell phone BADF. My At&t Tilt is pretty much on its last leg and I don't know anything about what new cell phones that are out there because I haven't been in the market in over 3 yrs. So I'm looking for a little help in the matter.

I have a Sony Walkman phone, I think. I like it, I don't need any fancy phones with email and all this stuff, just let me make phone calls and occasional text, and I'm happy. It's a slide phone. And it's built really solid. I can't tell you how many times I've dropped that thing in the street, and other than a little paint chip, nothing's happened. In fact, I actually think my phone works better after I drop it in the street.

I have an iPhone and could not possibly love it more. :lovestruc I came from a BlackBerry Curve and then a Bold and the iPhone just fits better with the main things I used it for (plus, call quality is VASTLY improved. I know I'm on the same network with the same carrier (AT&T) as before, but I've had maybe 6 dropped calls since June 19, and the bulk of those were in areas where the coverage has always been spotty to nonexistent.) Web browsing is second to none (IMO); it's leagues ahead of BB's browser. There are tons of free and/or cheap apps that are actually useful, as well...the first one I downloaded after I got my iPhone was the WDW Times Guide in electronic form. Even though I'm obviously not there every day of my life, it does make me feel like I have a little piece of Disney there with me, knowing that I can click on it and see what Off Kilter's schedule is today and that Illuminations is at 9 pm. :goodvibes

What carrier do you use? If you have AT&T and are happy with them and want an iPhone, they're selling the 3G model (which is the model just before the one they launched this summer, the 3GS) for relatively cheap now because they're no longer the latest model. I think a refurbished 8GB 3G is going for $49 if you're an eligible upgrader, which you should be if you've had your current phone for 3 years. :) Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions. You might also check a site like cnet.com that has a lot of product reviews, too.

iPhone

And I can't think of anything more I would want in a phone.

My preference was for the LG Voyager.

While I would love an iPhone, I can't justify the monthly cost. I have a Samsung Alias 2 which I really like a lot. I use it for calls and texting.

I have a blackberry Storm and I love it. Would like a iPhone, but I don't get good service with any other carrier other that verizon.

While we're talking about iPhones, I have a question. A friend of mine has one and his voice is difficult to make out. The phone he had before was not that way. Do any of you with the iPhone get complaints about people not being able to make out what you are saying? He says he has no trouble making out what I am saying on my phone.

I'd love an iPhone but don't have AT&T and the coverage isn't as good and more expensive per month. It's be cool to have but I don't need it.

DH and I both have LG Dare's and have had them for just about a year now. We both LOVE them.

I have an iphone and i love it. The apps are wonderful. I just had a blackberry pearl and although i was really happy with it for the first two months that i had it, I would never get another blackberry again after having the iphone. To me, this phone is THE BEST phone for At&t. However I only have one complaint about it and thats the fact that i am not capable of sending/receiving picture messages, but my boyfriend told me that that's something that they are working on and we should be able to send and receive pictures by the end of this month...we'll see about that :rolleyes1 .

I've never received any complaints about this. I also have friends who have iphones and I'm capable of understanding them perfectly fine. If your friend has a case on his phone, maybe its covering the speaker a little :confused3 , I'm not sure if thats the reason but its just a thought :confused3

I just bought the Sprint Reclaim.

I don't like fanciness in a phone, but decided to go for some of the "cool" stuff people do now like check e-mail and what not. It came preloaded with the tabs I wanted and I am satisified. My son likes that my phone plays playhouse Disney and the girls are happy that they can see episodes of Sonny With a Chance.

For some reason--my phone is now cooler than Daddy's I-phone.

We watched a you tube demo on it--and it seemed a pretty good phone despite it's "live green" focus.

I got the blue phone though the green phone didn't look as ugly as I thought in person.

The only annoying thing is one of its green features--the energy saving battery. So while I am trying to read something like an internet article or someone's scrolling face book message--the screen dims and then blacks out. Simply preserves the battery. Little irritating, but not a deal breaker for me.

Phone was $50 with 2 year contract from sprint. A couple hundred otherwise.

It also takes decent pics for a camera phone I have found.

I had considered the I-phone and it is just too much for my needs at this time.

My phone doesn't allow applications to be installed---but that isn't something I needed.

I can hear my husband just fine on his I-phone.

The only time I have trouble is when he is traveling through deadspots where there might be a small gap in towers. One place he travels--happens all the time in one spot.

Perhaps your friend isn't speaking into the phone properly. On my old phone (a dinosaur)--my Dh couldn't hear me if i had the phone too far back from my mouth (like vertical down my jaw instead of angled from my ear to my mouth). Maybe your friend is doing something like that.

My DH has tons of business meetings on his I-phone and he has had it over a year and doesn't get complaints that he can't be heard.

I have the LG enV2 through Verizon. I LOVE it. It's small, light (but still very durable), has the regular keypad on the outside and flips open to a full QWERTY keyboard. :lovestruc The camera is pretty decent on it, as well, which is nice. I text a lot so I like having the QWERTY keyboard. Plus I've dropped it a lot (I'm pretty hard on my phones.. :rolleyes1 ) and it still works like a charm!

Maybe I'm just weird but the only thing I REALLY want my phone to do is be cheap, give and take calls Anyone else out there remember when you could get phone service for $14.99 a month in the 1990's?

Now I need texting because my kids text and it's less embarrassing to keep in touch with a text than a call to Mom. So I fork over the $ for the family plan and can I say, holy crow it's expensive. But, if it was just me I would totally stick with a trac phone for $20 every 90 days.

BTW, my kids otherwise expensive phones were bought on Walmart's on-line site for free, with a rebate I need to send in soon... it went very smoothly.

Me too. Same phone, love it. They sell the enV3 now.

Love my iPhone. Great apps and games and also able to do Twitter, FB etc.

Oh, I can call people too. :)

Yeah, I've seen that in the Verizon store. It doesn't seem much different than the enV2. I'm thinking of upgrading to the enV Touch, but haven't played around with it enough yet to decide.

ok stupid question about fb can you play mafia wars/farmville on an iphone???
I don't think so, as if I recall correctly mafia wars/farmville are flash apps, and the iPhone doesn't do flash.

Are you *that* addicted??? :)
