What candy do you buy in Epcot Countries?

Haribo Gummis

I've seen these at Michael's craft stores and at Target. They have different shapes and such at WDW, but the gummy bears can be purchased at those 2 places.

Love the Areo, Flake, Maple Sugar Candy, and in Mexico the have this candy DH loves this candy made out of chili powder and sugar....it's sweet but also spicy...actually not that bad we always get it when we go to Epcot.

One time we went and got candy from each country to bring home to my FIL he loved it! :teeth:

I was in my local Wal-Mart last week, and to my dismay I noticed that they were selling MILKA BARS and another Disney candy that I bought in Epcot. Although I can't remember for sure, I think it was Toblerones.
They were packaged the same and everything.

I know it sounds silly, but I felt let-down and almost "taken". Guess I thought I was buying the Real McCoy in Epcot.

Anyone else seen these? They are located with the bulk candy.

All the candy you see in England is sold at Publix (in Florida at least)

Its Curly Whirly (not sure of spelling, but that is it) in England. Does anyone remember the American "Marathon Bar" (braided caramel covered in chocolate - oh so good)? Well, you can't get them in the US anymore, but they make them in England under the name "Curly Whirly". My sister and I almost died when we discovered these and now we stock up whenever we find them (either at EPCOT or various British Isles import stores we happen upon). They are soooooo good!
OK I just found this thread and am jumping up and down to hear this!! I LOVED the Marathon bar and nobody knows what the heck I was talking about. I have googled, tried all the nostalgic candy sites and nobody has one!! You have just made my day a Curly Whirly is in my future!!!
OK now I just googled again and they have this curly whirly thing- I must have it!! I remember going to the candy store and having only 50 cents and I thought that marathon bar was the biggest candy I could get. :cloud9: Thanks for the walk down memory lane.

Yum! Great thread!

I absolutely love Aero bars (mint) from England. I live in New Hampshire, so we have good maple sugar candy shaped in leaves and other things. Must try if you're from somewhere else without maple trees... Pocky is great (Japan), you can find them quite often in Chinatown or big supermarkets. The prices for Pocky in Japan pavillion are not bad at all. We loved the Germany candy counter. It smells so good in there! Every time we go in there the floor is sticky- sign of a popular candy store! :yay:

Have fun candy shopping!

My favorite is the Flake from the UK.
I was actually introduced to this chocolate by my OB/GYN when I was at the end of my pregnancy. I had gone in for a check up and the Dr. tells me I'm almost 5cm dialated and he is going to admit me to the hospital. I asked him if we couldn't wait because my husband was in the UK on business. He gave me this long serious look and then said "I'll make you a deal. If your husband brings me some cadbury flake back from the UK, I'll let you wait."

A week later my husband delivered the Chocolate and I delivered our daughter. Since that day Flake has been my all time favorite.

I was so excited to see this thread, because I decided to get some candy from each country on my last trip! I got a lot of good stuff, but the thing I always get, every time we are in WDW, are Haribo gummy bears from the Germany pavilion! My sister usually gets a Toblerone bar from there, as well. These bring back so many memories for both of us, since we got treated to these items while we were in German class at school, and then again when we actually got to go to Germany! These are the best tasting gummy bears around (in my opinion), try them!

Great Story! And a good Doctor!!

Here's to the Flake!!

(Try the Twirl next time you are in Epcot!)

Please do yourselves a favor and go to the Italy Pavillion. There's a store where they sell wine and chocolate. You HAVE to get the Perugina Dark Choclate with Almonds chocolate bar! It's Delish! And not to make you too jealous but I was just there last Thursday and I got myself one and I'm induldging in it right now!!!!

I have to agree with you on that. We always have to get several bags of them. Tried the Cola flavored ones on our last trip and those babies were gone in minutes!

We also always have to get some of those chocolate cookies from Germany. They have several kinds, I think the ones we usually get are called Bosch or something like that. There are also some called Hit. Really, really good.

Oh, and I can't leave Germany without one of their chocolate covered apples from behind the counter. I got several on our last trip the day that we left. They will package them in a cute little DW box for you. Took these back as teachers' gifts and I swear they were tempted to give my child straight A's the rest of the year just because of the apples! ;)

Just kidding. But they are out of this world.

I was SO happy when I saw that they sold Ritter Sport chocolates in Germany (the square ones). However, the only one that sounds good at all is the Alpine Milk Chocolate. I'm sure it's great, but I've bought the Cappucino and Yoghurt varieties at World Market and they are the best things I've ever had. So, I would definitely try those out if you like the flavors. Oh, and they do have packages of little squares, and it seems like they include some of the good varieties in the package (I think there are like six in the package--all different). There are like fifteen different kind of Ritter Sport squares. I wish they had them all.

Chocolate . . . Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Actually, when I go to Epcot my favorite treat is Kaki Gori in Japan. It's absolutly heavenly on a hot, humid day at the park. :teeth: It's this shaved ice (which they give you in a large quantity) and they flavor it with fruit syrup. The last time I visted Epcot was in '04 & they had melon, strawberry and a couple other flavors. I'm kinda hoping they have added more to their menu, I can't wait to have em again in March![/FONT]
