Can I pack an umbrella? Can I have matches? I know the liquid restrictions, but I want to bring a bottle of benedryl along, but it is a 4 oz bottle. is that allowed? Or does it have to be prescription? Is mascara to be in the ziplock bag?

Liquids are only allowed up to 3 oz, so it is a no-go on the Benadryl. The mascara would go in the ziploc bag. I believe the matches would be a no-go as well.

Here is the link to the TSA website that gives the complete description of what can and cannot be in a carry-on

Can you also bring a nebulizer on board ? Do not want that in checked luggage!!! Would that be an extra allowed carryon? DGD has bad asthma so know inhaler will be used on plane She might even need the neb. This is her first time flying!!

With certain exceptions for prescription and over-the-counter medicines, baby formula and breast milk, and other essential liquids, gels, and aerosols, the following rules apply to all liquids, gels, and aerosols you want to carry through a security checkpoint.

this is what I copied from that website. So that is why I am wondering about the Benedryl. It says over the counter medicines.

OK, I found this about matches

Strike-anywhere Matches - Up to 4 books of safety (non-strike anywhere) matches are permitted as carry-on items, but all matches are prohibited in checked baggage.

And OTC coutner meds are excluded from the 3 oz. Rule. They must be handed to the TSA agent (no one seems to know what he/she does with them besides look at them, but there you have it)

Matches are allowed, lighters aren't (Don't ask what the TSA thinks, it's scary on WHY you can't bring lighters LOL!)

Nebulizer's can be carried on and on most airlines Medical devices do not count against your carry on limit. (TSA does not regulate this so check with your airline)
