I read a thread here before on turning in old park hopper passes for the difference of a discounted AP pass. I have 2 unused adult park hopper plus passes and 1 child park hopper plus. How do they figure out how much I am going to get for these passes to turn them in for the discounted DVC AP pass?? Do I have to go to a DVC kiosk when I get there (14 days!!!)or do I have to do this at the parks?? One more question to add to the mix....I have 350 points to use from my Disney Visa, can I apply that to my AP??? Thanks for your help!!

I can answer part of your question - yes, you can use the money you've earned from your Disney Visa to help pay for your pass.

If you haven't used the hoppers, you should get the full price you paid towards an AP. You can only apply them 1 to 1 - 1 hopper towards 1 AP. You would go to any ticket window or guest relations, the DVC kiosks are strictly for scheduling tours.

Let me emphasize it's the full price YOU paid way back when, not the current price of a similar ticket. If you've had them a while you will lose out. If they're fairly new, trade them in if it works otherwise. If they're 3 years or more old, keep them for a trip that doesn't work out for a cheaper type of ticket.

If you have 3 or less days on your hoppers you can get about $70 a day for them on Ebay...Just another option if you dont want to save them.

Dean, that brings up a good point, I did buy my tickets thru ticketmania last year and I have no clue what we paid (just can't remember that far back!!). How will that work with Disney, is it possible to turn in a tickets that we bought "outsourced"?? This may get too complicated! :earseek:

My guess is you get what the original price of the ticket was when it came from Disney. Not sure how you would find that out though.

If the original PHP tickets came from anyone other than Disney (or AAA), you would receive the wholesale price as a credit - i.e., the price the broker paid Disney for the ticket. Disney is not going to give you credit for the broker's "mark up".

The price Disney was paid is encoded onto the magnetic strip on the back of the ticket. The CM will be able to see the price when you go to exchange it for the AP/PAP. You can ask what it is before you do the upgrade - that way you will know if it is "worth it" or not.

Best wishes -
