I am having my gall bladder removed this Thursday. I know usually this is a pretty routine outpatient procedure but because I have a clotting disorder I know they are going to keep me overnight.
What can I expect after surgery as far as recovery time? We leave for Disney 5 days after I come home from the hospital. Will all the walking around be too hard on me that soon?
I have been on what my surgeon calls a monk's diet - only veggies, fruit, baked chicken, pumpernickel and dark breads. I can not eat any sugar, white flour products, dairy, red meat, seafood, pasta, fried foods, etc...
Once the gall bladder is out can I eat fried and fatty foods again or do I still have to restrict those in my diet? I am so sick of salads, cut fruit and chicken I could scream! Anyone have any experience with this? I would SO love a Dunkin Donut and a Pepsi about now......
Thanks for any insight!
