WOW! Great responses! He's 14 weeks old. The paper said Shepherd & Spaniel. I'm not so sure about the spaniel part, but who knows. I can see some Akita points there, and some Australian Shepherd points there too! Who knows. My wife and I wanted the black lab puppy, but the children wanted this little fellow. He's a cute little guy. He's quite brave. He's backed my full grown Golden in the corner 3 times already!!! At 14 weeks!!! They play really good. I think they will be good friends. Thanks for all the input!

I know you are joking, but canine DNA testing is certainly an option.

According to this site http://www.canineheritage.com/ it will cost you about $120 to find out.

I had seen it on the news not that long ago... our puppy, 6 months old now is a Labordoodle, but everyone keeps saying that he doesn't look like one, so my hubby teases me and says that we could do DNA testing. I tell him that it doesn't matter what he is, we love him no matter what!

I was thinking something in the Shepherd/Lab/Rott mix area too, although I could see maybe some spaniel with the fluffy hair. He does have Shepherd coloring, but Shepherds have coarse thick hair. On top anyhow. Underneath they have downy fluff that gets EVERYWHERE! (I have a Shepherd )

OP: I wish I could help you, but i have no clue! He is a little cutie though!

I hope you don't mind if I ask the same thing about my puppy Eragon. I adopted him from the Humane Society last year in March, and have absolutely no clue what kind of dog he is. I was told part collie, but I'm not even sure that is accurate. I've been very curious what breeds he is a mix of. Here are some pictures:

The little one is Matthias, he is a half dachshund/jack russell terrier. I always joke that he was Eragon's Christmas gift. They are quite the dynamic duo.

Definitely part Shepherd! He could my Ruby's pup....she's got the same eyes and ears although she has a black back...I'll have too see if I can find a photo to show you what I mean....

He is adorable. He does look like he has a bit of shepard in him, and like a couple other posters said, maybe akita, or I was thinking possible collie.

OK, so I have a German Shepherd/Siberian Husky/Rottweiller/Akita/Cocker Spaniel/Labrador Retriever/Golden Retreiver/Collie/Australian Shepherd/Raccoon!

EEYORES BUTTERFLY:
I'm guessing part Pekigese. But only a small part(?). The tail and ears... I've never had any small dogs, so I'm not as versed in them. But your little guy is cute too! The last picture reminds me of ours. Maybe yours is part racoon too!!!
