What brands of clothes does your 7th grade DD wear?

My dd got most of her 7th grade clothes at Aeropostale. They have cute stuff and great sales and clearance. She also likes Hollister and American Eagle, but they tend to be much more expensive, so we don't buy from them unless it's from the clearance rack.

I was going to post the same exact thing. My dd goes to Catholic School so she wears uniforms, but we buy mostly Aeropostale for her, with a smidge of the other 2 thrown in.

I personally hate Hollister stuff, it is overpriced and doesn't hold up well at all.

Well, my DD 13 is going into 8th grade. Last year it was Aeropostale and a little Hollister. She liked for the brand name to be plastered across the shirts. This year 8th grade she has completely changed her style. She likes Hollister primarily and some things from Delia's. Now the shirts have to be plain with just a small emblem. But, I refuse to pay that much for stuff so she either has to wait for a really good sale or cough up half the money. She is okay with this and I think it is teaching her the value of money. She gets her jeans from Delia's and Belk. She is tall and athletic and hard to buy pants for.

Aeropostale is a no-no around here after elementary school. My dd is not very fashion conscious but wears skinny jeans from PacSun(the 00 or 0 fit her) t-shirts from there also. She likes Nike sneakers and Converse. She wears tanks under everything.

You must have big elementary aged kids where you live if they are done with Aeropostale by the end of elementary. Around here most kids wouldn't even start fitting into their clothes until Junior High!

This thread makes me so happy my oldest grandchild is not quite three! I can happily shop where I want vs. having to follow any trends. I will heartily agree with all the others who have said for your dd to wait til school starts to see what the popular styles are. I remember when my kids were that age, that styles or brands you thought were popular suddenly were totally OUT.---Kathy

My 11-year old is going into 6th grade and she won't shop at Justice anymore either. We don't go to the mall very often and is still too small for Juniors clothes. We did go to JC Penny's last weekend and picked up some skinny jeans. She tried on the Levi's skinny jeans and they were soooo tight in the leg. She had problems getting them on. Now, my DD usually wears "slims" because she is so little so it was pretty shocking to see the jeans that tight. If they look "painted on" on a thin/athletic child what must they look like on a normal kid?!? We picked up some JCP Arizona jeans ... I hope she won't be laughed out of middle school.

DGD, 13, is very thin and skinny jeans do look good on her. DGD, 11, is normal-she's not skinny but she's by no means fat, heavy, chunky, chubby. .not any of those. She does not look good in skinny jeans at all. She really wanted a pair last year but we had a long talk about wearing what makes you look good as opposed to what's currently "in style". So she's working on developing her own style :cutie:and is doing it fairly well.

My DD looked great in the other 3 pairs of skinny jeans we bought. It was just that the Levis were impossible to pull on over her legs and then once on, they were skin tight.

forgot to mention forever21 & they have a kids line too, the quality is awful but it definitely has the trendy stuff

I have a DD entering 7th grade, too. Luckily, she is not at all into clothes- it doesn't matter where I buy her things, as long as they fit and make her feel comfortable.

She hates skinny jeans. If she wears jeans at all, they must be boot cut, dark wash. 90% of her long pants are the stretch, yoga style- she also likes cargo capris. As for tops, most of hers are Ts with either a funny saying or tye dye. She likes to wear a tank underneath, but she doesn't like her tanks or Ts tight at all.

Mostly, she's a sporty gal- she would wear baggy long shorts or warmup pants and soccer Ts/jerseys every day if I let her. We buy most of her sporty clothes at Justice, Target, Dick's, or Old Navy.

dd12 is going into 7th grade this year. She likes aeropostale too. Finally fits into their smallest size jeans. She loves skinny jeans and wants some of the new "jeggings" also. She tried some on in Hollister but they were skin tight, even on dd who is very small for her age. She didn't really like Hollister which was fine with me. She won't wear anything from Justice any more, except pajamas and camis. We had been buying jeans at old navy so she's fine with stuff from there, target and kohls, penneys also.
