What book are you currently reading?

I'm reading A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry (It was an Oprah Book Club selection)

I'm also reading Photoshop Elements 4 for Dummies. (It scares when a "Book for Dummies" is over my head!)

I'm reading A Death in Belmont by Sebastian Junger (author of The Perfect Storm). It's very good so far!

Ooh, I love these threads. Love to hear reviews on books! I just finished A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers, and I am currently reading Eragon by Christopher Paolini.

"The Sylmarillion" by J.R.R.Tolkein & "Tess of the D'ubervilles" by Thomas Hardy.

I love the classics. I am actually trying to figure out what to read next.

"Pilgram's Progress", an Agatha Christie or my fav comtemporary author who has diasapppointed me of late, Peter Straub.

Any suggestions?

I am trying to finish Prince Caspian by CS Lewis, but my folks are visiting so it's on hold. :)

'Twelve Sharp'....yeah I'm a guy that read the Stephanie Plum books.

I just finished it...just wanted to let you know DH is reading it right now...he laughs right out loud when reading a Stephanie Plum novel. :rotfl2:

I just finished Wicked by Gregory Maguire, and I LOVED IT. I'll have to read Son of a Witch soon.

I just finished "Deaths Acre" by Bill Blass. It is about the Body Farm in TN. Now I'm reading "The Life of Birds" by David Attenborough. There is also a DVD that has the same information as the book that I plan on watching as I finish each chapter.

DS5 and I are reading Heidi together to keep up his reading skills during the summer. (He reads a bit of each chapter.) I had wanted to read The Indian In The Cupboard because I think he'd really enjoy it, but couldn't find my copy. Will have to hunt that down when we're nearing the end of Heidi...

I just finished Marley and Me. I laughed through most of it and then cried. What a delightful little book.

The Nasty Bits by Anthony Bourdain, and I just picked up Sahara By Michael Palin :)

I'm just starting The Stolen Child by Keith Donohue, also. I think it will be really fascinating.

I read this over the weekend. What a well written book. Just left me so....sad.

Also just finished A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore. Probably his best so far. I love this guy's very sick sense of humor. Wish they'd make some of his books into movies.....

Just started The Poe Shadow. I think this one is going to give me reader's block.

Trying to read Far From the Tree by Virginia DeBerry and Donna Grant. Only on page 53, but it's not pulling me in.

Also working on Stolen Valor, but that's a little at a time for me.

On my trip last week I read the Kite Runner (AWESOME - but intense!)
and the Alchemist (a quick, wonderful, inspiring read). I picked up Deception Point to start - has anyone read it?

OOPS - I see Swimnoid read Deception Point - any comments??

I am glad you posted this! I keep picking Kite Runner up, and putting it back down. Everytime I go to the bookstore. Next time I will just buy it. :)

Angels and Demons By Dan Brown. Great book!
