American Idol 24

I agree, the show yesterday was new and not a rerun. Sometimes they rerun the same show later in the week. Are they ONLY doing auditions in that one place this year? In the past, they traveled to many different cities to hold auditions.
I think I read they did virtual audios in multiple cities. It sounds like the best were sent to Nashville to audition in person.

That makes sense. Having all who are auditioning travel to Nashville to be there in person didn't seem to make sense to me.

So I get to see death valley again???... I don't remember anything previous as so dramatic and they made it look as lonely as it is

I haven't watched since Carrie Underwood joined the show. I can't stand her. I used to love the show. I'll watch again after she leaves, which I hope will be next season.

Not one to follow all season... but this year is really different with one location for directors and staff to really take a human look at the performers in the auditions and marvelous back stories.... death valley....to travel all the way out there and the exploration.... I know where death valley is located and it's in the middle of nowhere

You’re missing out on a lot of great talent just because you don’t like one of the judges. I hope Carrie keeps judging the show for a long time.

Tonight's show is the last of the auditions and then moving to the next stage of the competition which used to be held in Hollywood, but will now take place in Nashville. I don't see the competition thus far as any better/worse than prior years. Judges often seem overly impressed with an audition for someone who later on in the competition doesn't turn out to be as wonderful as they initially thought. That has been true in prior years as well.

30 cuts... hmmm 🤔 🤔 🤔... missed the first hour... Not as impactful... how far is Dollywood??... for relaxation time as in previous years

I'm not liking the way they're doing 'Hollywood' week, never mind the fact that they're still in Nashville, lol

We only get to see a very few singers performances (most of who got put through to the golden room) They show this whole line of people and we've only gotten to see or hear 2-3 of them from each group.

I love Hannah Harper and Braden Rumfelt. I hope they both go far.

I agree, not sure why they seem in such a rush to cut to the top 30. Even the judges talked like they were being rushed to narrow the field, but they didn't understand why. Seems in prior years they had various rounds, group performances and then narrowed the field down. Part of watching the competition is seeing a variety of performers both good and bad. Last night they tended to show those who were moving on.

I would think parents of some contestants who made it this far but are never shown on TV would be hugely disappointed. Seemed like there were already a lot of people in the golden room even when they supposedly announced the first set of finalists. My impression was only those moving on would be in that room. Likely they aren't showing the competition in the order it actually took place.

Thank you... I was watching the voice...and it's 15 minutes for every singer...of which 11 minutes is the drama of the coaches... and I am like thinking 🤔 🤔 🤔 I could be hearing more music elsewhere... but the commercials of the 30 cuts made me leery .... anyhow fell asleep

One hour of the Voice & Idol overlapped last night, so I kept switching back and forth and really didn't miss anything that way. Voice needs to get back to being more focused on the singers and lose the fake/contrived drama between the coaches. Some of these reality shows seem to think they need to change what previously worked to somehow make it better. Didn't Idol used to be on 2 nights each week, so there was more time to show the contestants during various stages of the competition? Less available air time might explain why the show seems so rushed this year.

I decided to save The Voice for tonight, when the State of the Union address is on.

I'm not watching-yet! In previous years I've gotten too invested in some of the contestants who I think are terrific, then they get let go early. They don't even get on TV. So I vowed that once they narrow it to the top 12, then I'll start watching, faithfully.
