I just finished "Still Life with Chickens: Starting Over in a House by the Sea" written by Catherine Goldhammer. It's a very quick read that makes for good summer reading.
I just started "The Great Deluge" by Douglas Brinkley. It's about the effects of hurricane Katrina on coastal Louisiana and Mississippi. I'm only about 100 pages in, but I'll tell you, it's very interesting. :)

Windows Server 2003 Active Directory Infrastructure. I wish I could say it was exciting and adventurous, but I'd be lying. Wanna trade?

Still Life with Chickens sounds interesting....is it really about chickens?? I'm so narrow minded  I've just published my first book, we're having our first book signing on the 28th, I'm getting so excited! So, when you finish up the book you're reading you can give mine a try (hint, hint).
The Exchange by Cynthia Reid and Sharon Stuart. Lots of murder and mayhem, think "The First Wives Club" meets "Dirty Harry"!!

A Wedding in December by Anita Shreve

:sunny: I'm reading Forever by Jude Deveraux. It's all right but there was a biiiiiiig sale at our Library. :Pinkbounc

I'm reading Binge by Barrett Seaman.
Campus Life in an Age of Disconnection And Excess, What Your College Student Won't Tell You. It's pretty interesting, and I'm enjoying it since my DS will be a Sophomore in college this fall.

James Patterson's Beach Road--not into it very far.

Congrats Cynthia!!!!

From Booklist:
Goldhammer, newly single and several tax brackets poorer, finds a fixer-upper house she can afford on the peninsula bordered by Boston Harbor and the Atlantic Ocean. Its salt pond and its possibilities intrigued her, but it was never meant to be a farm--and her 12-year-old daughter hated it, hated her mother, and refused to move. When bribery was offered in the form of six baby chicks, this animal--loving child was won over. This wonderful, poetic chronicle of chickens and life changes will entrance the reader, as Goldhammer learns about chicken care while selling one house and buying and renovating another, learns how to work with tools as she becomes proficient in building chicken coops, and in the process learns how to rebuild her life.

Congratulations on your first book, I'll put it on my wish list for next month. :)

James Patterson's The Fifth Horseman

The Chinatown Death Cloud Peril (ARC edition)...it will be published next month. Interesting first-time author book about pulp fiction writers and their own adventure. My favorite part of it is that you get a young Ron Hubbard who seems pretty clueless.

do books on tape count? or rather books on cd...LOL I have a long commute and the audio books help pass the time. I am currently listening to Eragon and it's pretty good. A Yahoo! search shows that it's being made into a movie to be released in December. Who knew? I never heard of Eragon until I picked up the audiobook...

Just finished Incubus Dreams and now reading Cerulean Sins - both by Laurel k Hamilton.

I'm reading "The Emancipator's Wife" by Barbara Hambly. It's about Mary Todd Lincoln's life before and after marrying Lincoln. Historical fiction and v. interesting! It's for my book club.

Next month's selection is the juicy "Hotel Babylon: Inside the Extravagance and Mayhem of a Luxury Five-Star Hotel" by
Imogen Edwards-Jones & Anonymous !

Alaska by James Michener

I'll never think my life is hard again after reading about the Eskimos in the Arctic.
