What are your shameful Disney secrets....

Despite ten WDW notches on my belt, I have never been been to FW.

The first time I had a Dole Whip I said, "that's it?" afterwards, but I have learned to love them.

I have to eat the fish and chips from the little window in England once every trip.

My favorite ride anywhere is Maelstrom (and I love the village that they drop you off in).

Some of my favorites:

MK: Tom Sawyer Island (even though the last time was with the in-laws in 2006), drinking the strawberry & cream smoothie from MSB for breakfast and watching the action/show, walking ;) through some of side paths, CoP, Buzz, Main Street stores/bakery/candy
dislikes: the speedway (it ruin my manicure on honeymoon), Stitch, Astro-orbitor

Epcot: Spaceship Earth (I think it was one of my first rides), Living with the Land (and the behind the seed tour), the tanks at the Living Seas, Turtle Talk, Figment, Maelstorm, Kim Impossible, Les Chefs for lunch
dislikes: the lack of a/c at some attractions, U of E, out of date country movies in Norway/France

Studios: Great movie ride, shops, ToT, Muppets, the Walt story thing
dislikes: the almost gone the tour ride thing, c/s options (at least up to 10/2009), need more c/d/e ticket rides, lacking a/c in a lot of places

AK: Everest, the trails, Safari, Conservation station, parade
dislikes: need more places with a/c, it is hot all year, need more attractions, lack of seats

STACEY!!!!!!!! :rotfl:I know she makes people's ears ring. They find her annoying. I don't care. She's been on so long now, she's become a part of the experience. You get to your room, turn on the TV, and boom - STACEY TIME! I could watch her go on and on acting ridiculous and silly all around WDW over and over and... I do. Yeah I said it.

Yeah we love Stacey too. We can't help it. We have to turn it on as soon as we enter the room. And we quote her all. the. time. My kids love it when we tell stories about going to Disney and once my daughter said, "Mommy you forgot the part where we watch Stacey." :lmao:

I think Dole Whips are gross. They taste way too artificial to me. I also find Test Track to be really boring. I can't figure out why people think it is so much fun.

I love walking around all the trails at AK. I never understand how some people claim it is a half-day park. I could spend days there walking around soaking up the ambience and taking pictures and watching the animals.

OTOH, I am not a big fan of DHS. I could make that a half-day park easily.

I have two:

I don't really get Hollywood Studios. DD and I make several visits per trip, wonder in, see a show, do the RnR and the muppets and then leave. We haven't done too well with finding great food and I generally feel completely disjointed in that place - scattered!!! I am normally a structured organized person, but can't seem to achieve anything there.

My other one is a positive:

Last year DD and I rode Splash Mountain 39 times in one trip. She was counting!

I love, love, love Fantasmic. I am shocked to hear people hate it. I get chills when Fantasmic Mickey is at the top of Bald Mountain.

Another quirk of mine is that I absolutely love Eeyore and on my first WDW trip in 9/07 I cried when I entered the Winnie the Pooh store because I was so overwhelmed.

I have to say that I absolutely cannot stand Stacey! I try to change the channel each time, but it's like seeing a car accident, you have to look and get a the info that you can get.

I have every CD that Off Kilter has done. :cool2:

I also cannot stand Stacey, but end up watching it anyway. :sad2:

And, we usually share a turkey leg on each trip. Yes, they have about a bazillion calories, but I'm a barbarion at heart.

1. Our family love's Ohana's. I know it gets bad reviews, but we have always had fantastic service, and GREAT food. (OK, OK, maybe it's the quantity they give you, but still, we love it)! :goodvibes

2. I despise the parades! All they do is clog up the walkways. Once you have seen one, you have seen them all! Even my 7 year old daughter agrees! :lmao:

3. OK one more. Hollywood Studios. Other that TOT, RNR and TSM, they should level the place and start over. BORING!!!!

My shameful Disney secret:

I LOVE Living With the Land! It's also known as "that stupid boat ride" amongst my friends and family. I have to go on it once a trip though, usually by myself;)

Melissa

i dont like dole whip :confused3

I love O'hana's and DHS!

The turkey legs freak me out! at first i thought it was an americian thing........so glad i got that wrong!

My shameful secret: I am not a Pooh fan. I will go to Crystal Palace if other people invite me to go with them, but I will not go out of my way for it.

I have another shameful secret, a food item in Epcot. I recently posted a quickie food porn review and included it. It's an artery clogging sandwich at the Rose and Crown Pub called the English Bulldog. It looks nasty but tastes surprisingly good.

I wanted to respond to these messages, though...

I love Stitch's Great Escape. I think it is absolutely hysterical! :)

There's only one thing that will keep me out of this attraction forever:

The chilidog. :scared1: I don't mind it otherwise. I call the attraction Stitch's Great Mistake.

The ride I don't understand why it is still open is Ellen's Energy Adventure?

Of course I love Figment. Yes version 1 was better but glad the attraction still exists.

I still get goosebumps when I go to the parks.

I love the Ellen version of the Energy attraction. It's a million times more interesting than the original. In fact, this is probably the only attraction in recent years that I've enjoyed the "improvement" version. I'm highly annoyed at the other "improvements" like:

- Spaceship Earth. Half the ride is completely gone, and I find the Dench version of the narration cringe-worthy. I used to love this attraction. I didn't mind the Cronkite version changing to Irons. This last version disappoints me, turning one of my favorite attractions into one of my least favorite.

- Journey into Imagination. The first version was fine. The other versions were just awful by comparison. The current version is a slight improvement over the second version, but only because they put Figment back.

- Enchanted Tiki Room Under New Management. Iago gets to sing. 'Nuff said.

I could go on and on, but I think my rant is pretty obvious. ;)

LOVe Primeval Whirl too! lol- reminds me of an old mousetrap coaster at the old zoo when i was a kid.

HATE turkey legs. yuck! my old CP roomie worked the turkey leg wagon/cart and came home every night smelling of greasy turkey legs. blech! She had to clean out the ovens they were cooked in at Pecos Bill's too.

LOVE O'hana. going for our third time in Dec.

Boma?- i've now tried breakfast and dinner and it was okay, but don't get all the fuss.

Never understood Imagination...at least the most recent incarnation.
Love Ellen's Energy Adventure.

And really don't see the point of Fantasmic.

UrsulasShadow: Thank You...I'm so glad to hear that someone else feels like I do about Fantasmic....My family will flame me (and does everytime I bring it up) but I don't care for Fantasmic.....the rest of my family loves it...I don't get it either.

I think the Disney Pizza is really good, even after I've tried true Manhattan pizza (which, admittedly, is BETTER than Disney)

I don't see any point at all in riding on the Jungle Cruise or Indy Speedway. I think those two are the attractions that are in most need or replacing.

One final note: One of my favorite attractions at Hollywood Studios--Sounds Dangerous. RIP.

The ride I don't understand why it is still open is Ellen's Energy Adventure?

See I LOVE Ellen's Energy Adventure! However my secret is that.... ok don't laugh... I am kinda scared of Dinosaurs! I know they don't exist anymore, but I accidentally saw Jurassic Park too young and am now scarred for life! The Chancellor of my University used to be Richard Attenborough (the man who played the guy who runs the park), and I was so glad he stepped down last year- because all I could think of was scary dinosaurs, which wouldn't be great at my graduation!! So for this ride I have to sit in the middle of a row! I did the dinosaur ride at AK once, and had my eyes shut the whole time!!

I love Ellens Energy ride. For some reason it ranks up there with Carousel of Progress(I realize that some dont like that one but many consider it a great) and Spaceship Earth. Those are the kind of rides that make disney unique. Anyone can do a thrill ride, I go to disney for the stories. I do like almost everything at disney world though. Sounds dangerous is terrible IMHO but I enjoy almost everything for the most part.

You have good taste! :thumbsup2

Things I don't like: Dole Whips, they taste like medicine to me. DTD, I just don't care for the shops there and I don't care about DisneyQuest. Country Bear Jamboree, I'm just so over it and have been for years.

I'm the same about Dole Whips, DisneyQuest and CBJ- just don't get it at all! Tiki Room too, went in for the first time in Sept, and decided it was a waste of my life!

I don't like Fantasmic!. I think it's kind of dull by Disney standards.

I went once, many years ago, and didn't think much of it. I will go again on my next trip, but I am not looking forward to the queue!

Love: Country Bear Jamboree

don't get: Illuminations

::scared1: You don't like Illuminations!!!! :faint: How....?? Why....??

I have another shameful secret, a food item in Epcot. I recently posted a quickie food porn review and included it. It's an artery clogging sandwich at the Rose and Crown Pub called the English Bulldog. It looks nasty but tastes surprisingly good.

I don't think I saw that one! Can you describe it or send me the link?

Some of my Disney secrets:

1) It took me a really long time to like Wishes, the first time I saw it my sister wasn't well and we spent the whole time worrying about her. My family didn't like it ether. It wasn't until I got into Dis Radio and the like that I listened to it again, and decided I loved the music. I now love the show!

2) I spent last weekend watching the video we have of the Disney trips we went on when I was 4 and 16 years old (me at 8 is on a video we can't access at the moment), and I love seeing how everything changed! We still have video of Horizons, World of Motion and Wonders of Life!

3) I think Cafe Mickey in Paris is better than Chef Mickey in WDW

4) I got called a Disney expert by the cast member on the phone line last time I called. It made me feel good! :goodvibes

don't get: Illuminations

Really? That is my favorite part of a day at Epcot. I LOVE IT!!! Thank goodness we don't all like the same things - imagine how long the lines would be if your favorite was everybode else's too! :scared1:
