What Are Your Opinions Of Liberty Tree Tavern

We love LTT and make it a tradition to eat there at least once on every trip. We'll be enjoying ourselves at LTT in 10 days!

We suprised our 8 yr old for his birthday dinner the first night we were there. The kids loved the mac-n-cheese and the turkey. I loved the salad-yummy dressing. The food was really good but not 5 star restaurant by any means. But it is a place that we will go back because we have yet to have a bad meal and the service has always been excellent. Dh gauges the service if his cup is empty for too long lol - it was always full.

We also at at Cindy's for dinner and that was awesome. It was the meal I wanted to do. And it didnt disappoint. I had prime rib but have to admit the prime rib was better at Chef Mickeys.

The only bad dining experience we had at MK was at Cosmic Ray's. I would rather starve than set foot in there. Odered and got up to the counter and ther person that was getting the orders ready dissapeared for over 20 minutes. I kept telling people that she left but they didnt want to hear it. I finally had to ask the cashier to get a manager. It was very aggrevating to say the least and the food was worse than McDonalds.

There is a place behind the Castle and the name escapes me but it has pizza. My 2 yr old missed the whole dinner in the Castle and he ended up having pizza there while daddy sat with him on a bench. He said it was the best pizza ever.

While DM and I have only been once we do plan on going again this next trip.

It is fun for us and I can't wait to see the characters interact with DB.

The food is very good and for us a nice change after all the heavier, fancier food we tend to eat while on vacation. It is kind of like a vacation from vacation food :)

Will let you know how we liked it this time....DM is the one who requested we go back!

We did dinner and didn't care for the food too much. The meat especially was on the dry side. Nice salad and dessert. Otherwise just mac and cheese, potatoes and gravy and stouffers stuffing. Nothing extra-ordinary.

I'm not real impressed with the park restaurants a whole lot. The castle I think is the most "special" at MK and we've eaten everywhere but Tony's and like the Plaza Restaurant the best, but while the food is good, the atmosphere is nothing special. I would take the monorail to the Grand Floridian Cafe and enjoy an excellent meal in a lovely atmosphere.

The food at LTT was blah. I agree with others that it is tv dinner food, but at a much higher price.

I recommend Crystal Palace for pretty good food and atmosphere. I would even recommend Cosmic Rays over LTT. Although no characters, at least we weren't paying a fortune for tv dinners!

Thanks for the replies folks! Even though the majority of the reviews seem to be negative, from the details provided by some folks about the type of food served, it sounds like something I'll really enjoy. Plus, we have a couple of little ones so the character thing sounds cool for them. Think I'll try it! :cool1:

If you're looking for a really good meal, I would suggest taking the boat from the MK over to Wilderness Lodge and eat at the Whispering Canyon Cafe. It would definitely be worth your time!

Yea, that place looks good and I definately want to have it somewhere on our schedule. I figured I wouldn't have to go there the same day we went to MK. The Winderness Lodge has parking, so I can go there without Admission to MK, right? Is the bottomless skillet thing only one dining credit on the dining plan? How much does it cost without the dining plan? Thanks!

I had heard lots of bad things about LTT, but I guess I had a brain freeze and went there for lunch anyway.

Once we were seated (lots of "computer issues" and a gal who looked so THRILLED to be at the hostess desk made our wait not so fun) our server was great, he paid a lot of attention to our kids and was always there with a refill without hovering. We found the food to be terrific. It was much simpler, without a lot of heavy sauces. I was excited to see just plain ole steamed green beans with my turkey and stuffing. We are on a low sodium diet, and I didn't find the food salty at all, just plain and simple. My daughter loved the birch beer ( a version of root beer that we hadn't encountered anywhere else), and I loved that they had a children's plate option that featured fruit and yogurt instead of mac and cheese or chicken nuggets.

The desserts were simply divine!

I truly hope that our experience wasn't a random fluke, because we will definitely be returning. We sampled many sit down restaurants throughout WDW in the resorts and in the parks, and our meal at LTT ranks in the top 5.

BTW, we ate there at lunch the week before Christmas.

My family likes the LTT. We ducked inside after a raining afternoon for dinner and were chosen the magical bell family- 1st family for dinner. We have a special fondness for the place. My girls still talk about how great the mac and cheese was...Great character interaction.
