What are your Memorial Day weekend plans?

Last night we went camping at the local state park with some friends, today is a 1/2 day of work, followed by shopping for summer dresses and a lobster dinner on my deck:) It is supposed to get quite warm tomorrow so my first day at the beach this summer:thumbsup2 followed by happy hour with friends in Plymouth. Not sure what Monday holds just yet but hopefully the beach and then settle down to start the workweek over again.

Went out with hubby tonight for our 17th wedding Anniversary. Taking the kids to the circus tomorrow and Monday I am matching in the parade with my girl scout troops. Planning on visiting my grandfathers grave also. He was a WWII vet.

congratulations on your anniversary! this weekend is also our 17th anniversary (of when we started dating though, not wedding)

no plans for me...I just started a class last week and I am going to be stuck studying all weekend :(

Today- Going shopping and looking online for anything wedding

Tomorrow- Going to my parents house for a BBQ

Monday- we are meeting with a photographer for our wedding

I'm in Indy with my hubby to go to our first Indy 500. Had a great night last night having dinner with Sarah fishers race team. My hubbys co sponsors one of her cars. So today Indy parade and Indy zoo and maybe somemore sights. Tonight dinner at mo's steakhouse. Tomorrow Indy 500 in the tower :)

No big plans for us. We've left for WDW the Thursday night of Memorial Day weekend the last few years, and that's not happening this year.

We need to clean the house this morning, we're having dinner with DH's family this evening, and a cousin's graduation party tomorrow. Our town has a Memorial Day parade, I'll probably take the boys to that Monday.

My 19-yo cousin left for Basic Training for the Coast Guard last Tuesday. I'm proud of her, but she seems so young! She was so excited.

My crew are taking a mini vacation over on the coast of Maine (left last night) and it just dawned on me a little while ago that this is the first time ever - in my entire life - that I haven't spent Memorial Day weekend with some type of family.. Feels a little "odd" - to say the least..

When I was a kid, we always had my Grandma's picnic at Thatcher Park in NY.. As an adult, Memorial Day weekend was either spent here (when I was married to my 1st husband) or in Maine with the kids and my late DH.. From 1985 until 1999, every Memorial Day weekend was spent in Maine with my DH and my youngest DD; several times with DH's oldest DD and her DH; 3 yrs. in a row with my DSIL and her DH; then DD and her DH; and the last time we went, my DGD was along too..:)

I don't have any "real" plans for the weekend, but I'm back to reading again (far too warm this week to be working on my quilts); hope to try out a few new recipes; might go over to town and check out the used book store; and of course there's always a campfire I can stroll over to if the mood strikes me..:goodvibes

I saw on the news that there's been quite a jump in people going away for the MD weekend this year - as opposed to last year - and the largest percentage are going by car.. They seem to feel that this is a good sign in terms of financial recovery, but I'm not so sure about that..

Anyhow - what all are you planning to do? Going somewhere? Having a barbecue? Attending parades?

Feel free to share if you would like to..:goodvibes

We used to go to Thatcher park too, isn't it sad that its on the closed list :sad1:
When I got older I would spend the weekend up at Lake George but haven't been there for Memorial Day in years. This weekend I'm traveliing upstate to visit some friends and then some family. I'm supposed to be getting ready to go now but I'm stalling because I'm dreading the car ride.

I hope everyone has a happy and safe weekend :thumbsup2

Today: spent the day cleaning the house and cooking

Tomorrow: My graduation party!

Monday: avoiding the beach at all costs, lol. Living on the jersey shore on memorial day weekend is never fun haha. I believe my neighbors are having a bbq so we will probably go to that

Today was low key as I seem to have caught my mothers cold. I am however enjoying the Law and Order SVU marathon on USA.

Tomorrow will be visiting the cemetary to put flowers on my grandparents graves (my one Grandpa faought in WWII), then my Grandma's for a picnic dinner.

Monday will be over at my Uncles for another picnic.

I have a "date" with 32 Elderly folks and my lovely job. I am planning to spend day with bunch of dis buds too.

DH & I are in lovely Carmel-by-the-Sea (Clint Eastwood was once the mayor here) We've hiked in Point Lobos, did wine-tasting in Carmel Valley, had lunch overlooking the Pacific in Big Sur----ahhhhhh. We're having a relaxing time. We need to take a detour home on Sunday to my nephew's HS graduation party. But that's OK. On Monday, we're going to the local Art & Wind Festival (kite-flying). Then our kids are coming over for DH's birthday. Not a bad weekend.

Oh... I'm jealous. I love Carmel, Pebble Beach and Monterrey. I wanna go......

I'm doing a sad amount of nothing... I take that back, I just painted my nails. I had four of my vertebrae fused last week, so it's me, my percocet, some choice movies, and too much time attached to this computer.

Someone have some fun for me! :woohoo:

We are continuing our efforts to get the house and yard in shape for DS's graduation party in a couple weeks. I spent most of last night scanning pictures (from before there was such a thing as a digital camera) on to the computer and into a digital frame to have a slide show running for his party. I scanned about 300 pictures and barely made a dent in all of the pictures we have. I had dreams of doing all the pictures one day, but those 300 took me a good 4 hours :scared1:.

We will go golf today and tomorrow. We don't like to do too much driving on Memorial Day weekend if we can avoid it.

Going to a backyard pool party later. Our nephew will stay over tonight after the party. Tomorrow, DS will march and play his trumpet in our town's Memorial Day parade as a member of the high school marching band, which leads the parade.

I love seeing the town parade. I'm such a sap, it always chokes me up.

Friday after work help decorate for prom,
sat 6am back at school painting for prom, then a few lawnsales, till it was time to go back to school to do ballons for prom, then did 4 peoples hair for prom, then get dressed for prom to go chaprone. Then clean up after prom, got home at 2am. Up already, getting ready for church, then to target, then to a area church fundraiser, then pick up my daughter from visitation with her dad, then crash.

I love Carmel!

Well, started things off by going to a concert on Friday night, had a fantastic time! Saturday went to my DS11's baseball game and took DD6 to a birthday party. Today I work (no clue why I volunteered to work today since I never works on the weekends and it's Memorial Day Weekend, what was I thinking?) Monday we're having a barbecue, we're doing BBQ chicken and chicken with a yummy honey/vinegar glaze on the grill. We're celebrating my DS's birthday as well. :thumbsup2
