What are your Memorial Day weekend plans?

I'm making strawberry everything with the 11lbs of strawberries we picked yesterday.
BBQ with just the fam. tonight, some swimming, and my daughter is in the memorial day parade tomorrow with her Brownie troop.

DD has been calling me every day from Maine to check up on me.. Isn't that supposed to be the other way around? LOL..

They're having good weather and a great time.. Talked to my Dson-in-law too today and although he said there's a good amount of traffic, it's not unbearable..

I spent some time today with my late friend's DH and his DGD's - who are up at his place for the weekend.. Last night they brought me over a huge plate of food for dinner before they headed over to his son's home on the other side of the lake for a campfire.. (My late friend was always trying to feed me something or another - trying to fatten me up - LOL - and I think she must have left instructions for her DH to continue the tradition..) Gosh - I miss her so much!

Other than that, I've got my nose buried in my books again - reading like mad.. Decided to get online for awhile to check out some books on Amazon and half.com and thought I might as well pop in here for awhile before I shut my computer down..

Hope everyone is having good weather, good times, and remembering those who are no longer here among us..

I am so very sorry.. As you know, my late DH was a Korean war veteran too - and I lost my dad back in 1987.. I understand your sadness completely.. Losing one's dad is terribly, terribly painful..

My condolences to you and your family..
