I thought it would be fun to hear other people's costume ideas/plans.

Or am I the only one who is planning for an event that's over 2 months away? :rotfl:

Sooooo, I'll start: my DD(3) is going to be Violet from the Incredibles. My DS(5) is going to be Frozone--also from the Incredibles. I always make their costumes, but these are going to be tough. :scratchin I love a creative challenge, though!

Anyone have any cool or original costumes planned?

It's still changing everyday here. Today dd (6) told me that she's going to be either Pochantas or Minnie Mouse. It's usually Pochantas or something else, so maybe it'll really be Pochantas! ;) DS (10) has no idea yet.

Not original or cool, but what can I do? They've made up their own minds!

DS 10 will be Batman, and DS 3 will be Robin.

Last year they were a ghoul (age 9) and a bee (age 2).

Before that, Tigger (age 8) and Pooh (age 1).

Before that, Yu-Gi-Oh (age 7) and Tigger (age 7-8 months).

My older one at age 6 was Robin, 5 was Peter Pan, 4 was Captain Hook, 3 was Spiderman, 2 was Eeyore, 1 was Pooh and 6 months was Mickey Mouse.

They're all commercial costumes and we've kept them all.........Pooh was recycled for my second son, Robin will be this year (he's much bigger for his age than my first son was), and Spiderman was destroyed in play this last Winter (basically, it was too small, and he finally split all the seams).

I make them cuter by selecting/making a candy container that "matches".........a hunny pot for Pooh.....they have them now, but I had to make my own back then, a basket for Eeyore, a webbed bag for Spidey, a pirate's chest for Hook, a leather bag for Peter...............I stopped doing that quite so much after my second son came along..........but still got a purple bucket for Yu-Gi, a black bat bucket for the ghoul, Pooh and Tigger faced buckets for Pooh and Tigger.................I just think it's cute.

By the way, our Pooh, Eeyore and Tigger were Disney Store ones from back when the child's face was the face of the animal.............and there wasn't an extra head perched on top..........they are very cute.

I like those older costumes the best. Some of the newer ones look like the character has eaten your child! :rotfl:

Today DS7 wants to be Anankin Skywalker and DS5 wants to be Darth Vader. So together they'll look like before and after or good and evil!

I'm trying to get them to choose Disney characters. pirate:

Paige, that's funny your boys and their costumes sound exactly the ones my boys have had over the past few years. Funny!

Anyway, this year is definitely a Star Wars year. They are deciding between a Han Solo/Luke Skywalker combo or an Obi-Wan Kenobi/Darth Vader combo.

I'm voting for Han Solo - black pants, white shirt and black vest = easiest Halloween costume ever. LOL.

My son loves to jump out and yell Boo! at people, so he will be a ghost. I'm trying to make his costume as simple and child friendly as possible, but my husband and I both agree that the classic "sheet with eye holes cut out" look is what we're going for- any ideas on how to pull it off? I was thinking of loosely sewing arms (as unnoticible as possible) for function, and keeping it at about shin to ankle legnth and very loose to avoid tripping but I have no real ideas for the head part... I'd prefer not to paint his face because he is only two and it will be all over him and us, so I was thinking a hood of somesorts... Any ideas would be great, thanks!

BTW- Last year he was the cutest vampire ever, complete with coffin (his dressed up wagon) and widows peak, and at two months he was a kangaroo.

My 4yo is going to be a fairy, and my twins (who will be 19 months old at Halloween) are going to be ladybugs. Yes, I already have the costumes!

My DD, 8, wants to be Elvis but won't she be surprised when she finds out I bought her a Snow White outfit for our trip in Nov/Dec and give it to her before Halloween? Gee, I hope so, this Elvis thing has gone too far :rotfl2:

Oldest (3yr) wants to be Cinderalla. I'd like something more interesting but she's really into princesses. She was Minnie Mouse last year.

My youngest (2yr) changes her mind all the time. She's said Lumpy, Eeyore and Cinderalla. I am trying to convince her to be JoJo since it fits her personality! But Lumpy and Eeyore are her fav's so I bet it will be one of those. Last year she was Piglet.

My oldest (9) will be Hermione from the Harry Potter books. Now that she's read book 6, she really wants to be Ginny, but I can't tell you why unless you've read book 6!!

My son is 5 - hasn't decided yet. Last year he was a dinosaur, but when his tail and wings got too heavy to walk around with, we ran home and made him an impromptu cowboy.

The baby will be 2. Last year she was a flower; I think I can make a Tinkerbell costume with the same pattern.

It will probably depend on what fabric I have laying around the house.

Not sure yet about the teens--they like to dress up in off things like being a ketchup packet.
DS 5 wants to be Darth Vader
DS 3 wants to be the Red Power Ranger

I don't know what DS10 is planning for this Halloween. Last year he was Elvis. For camp last week he went as a "Wanted" poster. I make his costumes which is a trick since I don't sew. I am quite handy with a glue gun and thrift store finds though!

DS is going to be Dale Jr. Kinda hard to tell in this pic :earsboy:

Mo is going to be a cowgirl and Elliot is going to be "Maggie" from Herbie Fully Loaded. I think the racing suit would be fine for a boy too and then DS also has the Herbie trick or treat bag. He loves Herbie so he'll be a happy clam.

My youngest daughter 7 is going to be a she devil thing. My oldest daughter 8 is going to be some kind of garden fairy princess thing, hard to describe but pretty costume. My son 12 will probably be something gross and ghoulish. I am having a huge party for all the kids. I am kind of intimidated!!! But I promised them last year I would do it. :) Wish me luck.

I am most likely being a pirate from the Black Pearl. But I don't know what size I'll need since it's in boys. I wear a large (10-12) in girls. XS in Juinors. Anyone know what size I'll need? Thanks!

It's glow-in-the-dark, too.

Either a member of Riverdance, Satine from Moulin Rouge, a LOTR elf or Dru from Buffy(but I was thinking about going as Kate from Lost, what would be needed to be her?)

My 5 year old is going to be Willy Wonka
My 3 year old has no clue, changes every minute!

I asked DD and she said she wants to be a cat. I need to find a cute, age appropriate, black cat outfit.

I was thinking DS should be a mouse. ;)

My 14yo is going to be a gothic princess or witch, 10yo is going as the Statue of Liberty with her torch (:scratchin lol), 7yo is going as a Renaissance lady, 2yo will be Elvis (haven't finished making his costume yet), and 2mo is going to be a bobby soxer with poodle skirt and all.

2yo son could go as Stitch since I bought one and I wanted the girls to dress as fellow Lilo and Stitch characters, but he fought so hard against wearing it.
