What are your kids asking you for this Christmas?

The Touch and Brush tops my DD's list too, and we rarely watch Nickelodean so I'm not sure where she came up with that one. :rotfl:

Otherwise, she'll be 7 by Christmas and she wants a unicorn Pillow Pet, (whatever that is), a barbie head to teach Daddy how to braid her hair, a Tiana princess doll (already found that at TRU), some disney prince barbie type dolls such as Aladdin. She's been using her allowance for zhu-zhu pets, so I'm guessing we'll be safe on that front. Oh, and yes the kicker, American Girl Bitty Twins starter set.

I'm sure this list will change as Christmas and her birthday approaches, except for that darn Touch and Brush. :lmao:

Edit: Apparently she really wants a beginning magician's kit also. :)

DD has both sets of Bitty Twins--Grandma LOVED to feed her American Girl habit so it was nice for us :thumbsup2.

I'm asking for itunes giftcards, bookstore giftcard, money, Doctor Who, and some exercise stuff. A few books and then a few movies. Big Bang Theory and a magazine subscription and a few other things. Teenagers are hard to buy for so I always try and make a list. (I'm 16)

BBT is the absolute best show ever, imho. If you get last season's dvd, be sure to watch the Christmas epi (bath gift hypothesis, or something like that) - OMG, we've kept it on the dvr for whenever we have a bad day

Oh, and to answer the original question, my hero, JESW on the Disboards, gave me the perfect idea for DD's Christmas gift this year, a Bamboo Tablet for her computer. She has not idea it exists, and it is so her kind of thing, so I know it will be a hit.

But I must learn about the zhu zhu thing. Never heard of it.

What is a Bamboo Tablet???? :confused3

My child loves all things informercial. She will be 9 next month and has no desire for toys or clothes or anything else really. She likes practical things. Last Christmas she got a double headed shower thingy and now wants the rainfall shower head. This year she'll be getting an ipod, digital camera, that silly toothbrush/toothpaste thing, probably new bedroom furniture, and a netbook (which is really more so I can take it to school...but ya know). Oh, she'll also be getting an electric toothbrush and charmin toilet paper. And I can promise you that the toilet paper will be her favorite gift.

Also, for the PP who was thinking about the karaoke machine...great investment. Get one you can hook up to the TV so the kids can watch themselves. Walmart sells a lot of Disney karaoke CDs for pretty reasonable prices.

Also, a whiteboard was the best gift I've ever given my child. She uses it all the time (it's about 5 feet long by 3 feet high) and her friends are jealous. We give whiteboards for birthday presents to her friends...that or super fancy dresses we get on clearance at Deb's (the sparkly prom ones....great for dress up)

Apparently, it hooks up to your computer and allows you to "draw" freehand. Also comes with various software to then get even more creative with your creations. I haven't actually bought it yet, but here http://www.wacom.com/bamboo/ is the link about it.

DD12 is all about the laptop, and a pretty serious artist, so I think this is perfect. If she can tear herself away from the video chat with all her tweener friends, of course ;)

daughter----DS, American Girl doll, legos

son---- Lego (temple of doom), DS, and more legos

we are also getting some new wii games as a family gift. daughters stocking will have webkinz and littlest pet shops, things like that. son will also get a webkinz, his first.

I made my list September 30th

It's mostly Disney-related. Some of my favorite Disney movies on DVD (Hunchback, Hercules, Toy Story etc) These SUPER awesome Toy Story action figures. (Big ones, like from the movies) The new Haunted Mansion CD. An iPod and a Barnes and Noble gift card. I always make a list. Otherwise I never know what I want.(I'm 15)

Second on the giant whiteboard, we gave DD one from Costco last year or the year before and she still uses it. It's magnetic too, and I can honestly say it's one of the best things I ever spent $20 on. :thumbsup2

Dsis 9- polly pockets
D sis 11- Legos, and polly pockets
Other than that no clue! They want digital cameras but there mom covered that, and cases.
Me- I wanted a lego police car, a monkey, jammies, and money (and Im getting it all since mom spoiles me (and need help to figure it out).
Moms getting a photo book and battery charger
Tias getting a photobook
Gmas getting a photo book

Mine haven't asked for anything yet - well the oldest has mentioned Vera Bradley purses & we've looked at them - so she'll get a purse & probably a makeup bag. She's getting a fleece jacket with the school logo on it (they are selling 'em for a fundraiser so I thought it would be good for everyone involved - LOL)

I've picked up some ZHu Zhu pets for the other kids

we'll get a new wii game or 2 I'm sure.

youngest dd has some store kinda thing - bought it a while back - she's always playing store so I think it was like fake money or something along those lines.

That's it - I'm cluessless other than that little bit & I have a Dec b'day to buy for too.....

For DD- Why not laminate the money and some coupons and a store map or two? If you use contact paper it works well. One teacher at our center did this and it was a huge hit. Oh and she lamated some play checks and got a couple of fake debit cards from walmart.

My kids both have birthdays Christmas week so I have to plan to incorporate that as well (I also have a December birthday--they do get just as muc has they would if their birthdays fell in the middle of summer--more probably becuase I go kinds nuts at Easter getting outdoor toys:lmao: but we jsut do one big gift from parents for each holiday, and one from Santa and the of course their is extended family).

DD12 (turning 13:eek:) birthday:
She had to leave her playmobile doll house behind in the USA when we moved and really wants a replacement. So will be getting her that and family will fill in with sets of furniture for it. I don't really know how much "play" it will get, but she really wants it and who am I to insist she grow out of a toy:rolleyes:

DS10 (turning 11)
He loves the Playmobil Egyptian sets. We are getting him the big pyramid and Nile boat.

Christmas from us for both kids (what I think we are doing anway--not bought yet):
Tickets to the traveling tour of Mama Mia in January plus a hotel near the theatre (2 hours from home) for the night. They are big musical theatre junkies.

Christmas from Santa (yes, I know they are "too old"--in my house if you are still young enough to be in school Santa comes;))
DS--Lego Secret Agent set (I think he is leaning toward mission 3 as his favourite--but it chagnes oftem so I am holding off a bit on buying).
DD--not sure yet. She is hard to shop for because her tastes are so eclectic.

DD got the Playmobil pyramid and sphynx for her birthday. I'm a longtime Playmobil collector and the pyramid is probably my favorite set ever. My kids (9 and 7) play with it constantly, as do all the other kids that come over. Great set!

Nice to know what everyone is getting their kids - lots of great ideas. Thanks!

By the way, I assume none of the kids of the previous posters are also on the DIS, and know what their parents DIS under? :rolleyes1

So what is a zhu zhu pet?? Seems like this and itouch are pretty popular.

A zhu zhu pet is a motorized hamster thing that can move by itself. They also make habitrails, wheels, even a car! for it. The hamsters here are going for about $8 a pop, with most of the accessories for around $20...:goodvibes

Ok, where are you finding them for $8?? I looked on Amazon and they are around 27 bucks each. They have a set of 3 hamsters for $128 :scared1: It would cost less to buy a real one. (of course, therapy for DD after our terriers kill it would be expensive...)

Also, do you think these are enough of a hot item that they'll be hard to get closer to Christmas?
