What are your favorite treats to take home?

knationk-

Sorry you did not like the hot chocolate... I guess everyone's taste buds are different cause we loved it... I am not a fan of the chocolate covered Mickey pretzels, but others love them...

Look at the bright side... At least you got to go to Disney.. We are stuck at home! Ha Ha

Ginger salad dressing at the Japan Department Store in Epcot.
Tried making it myself, but its not the same taste.

knationk, too bad about the hot chocolate. Maybe you could doctor it up with some cocoa powder and powdered milk. People often make hot chocolate mix to give at Christmas. You could tell people your has a little disney magic in it. I hate wasting stuff (especially when it wasn't cheap) - shampoo turns into handsoap and conditioner becames saving lotion.

shoes99 - Ginger Dressing! Yum! Japan is my favorite place to shop, but I don't remember seeing ginger dressing. However, I'm usually hovering around the Hello Kitty and the pottery.

Just wanted to pop in with a little info - I noticed that the gift shop in ASMo has the pixie stick dispenser - honestly didn't notice if they have the very long tubes, but it might be worth checking if you stay there, you can get some while checking out instead of having to haul it back from the parks. :teeth:

MollyMeow,
I think all the resorts have the pixie dispenser and I did see the long tubes at Pop Century.
I used to LOVE pixie stix...I feel like I totally cheated myself on this trip! I didn't get ANYTHING yummy...I'll have to make up for it in February 2006!

My favorite treat this last trip a week ago was the Cinnamon Yummy danish at the Boardwalk Bakery. They had the pixie sticks at the Sweet Shop at the Boardwalk. There were unsupervised kids licking their fingers and sticking them up where the tubes go. I didn't notice this until after I bought one for my son and my brother in law pointed it out to us. It was to late because my son didn't want to give his up. I wish I found this thread before I went on my trip. I didn't get to experience any of the good things you are all talking about. It will be awhile before we go again.

Back in 1998, my daughter and I discovered the best candy that we ever had. Some people call them "turtles." I'll describe them: The bottom layer is macadamia nuts, next comes a layer of carmel, milk chocolate on top of the carmel, and on the very top is a round layer of dark chocolate with a mickey head in the middle. They come individually wrapped in clear plastic. You can also get them with different nuts or white chocolate instead of the milk. They are so delicious and rich!

We always bring at least a dozen home. We ration them out to one a week for each of us. Of course, we eat a few while we're at Disney.

I love to bring home the mickey shaped rice krispie treats (they just taste better when they're Mickey, LOL), bags of chocolate covered pretzels, and hot cocoa for my brother. Not the color changing one, though, these are flavored, such as chocolate caramel sundae. Yum!

My favorite thing I brought home was Mickey Coffee. We bought it at a shop at MGM (sorry, I don't remember the name), but we also saw it at many other shops. You can get a big can, or a bunch of little ones with Mickey, Minnie and others on it. And the best part is, once the coffee is gone (and it's good coffee!), you can just put the can on a shelf as a decoration! I have a coffee cup that matches . . . .:teeth: !

Plus, don't forget - NO calories in a cup of coffee  !

I found them in most of the gift shops that sell chocolate. They come pre-boxed now for $10 (I think there are 4 in a box). It made them easier to carry home.

I got some sugar-free peanut butter cups for dbf and he LOVED them! Next time I'll have to get him a big box full.

Oh my Gosh - I'm actually drooling. I'm even thinking of giving up trick-or-treating at MNSSHP so I can leave room for "real" candy. Who needs a bag of M&M's when you can have Mickey chocolate pretzels ....

Okay, I'll play now that I'm salivating and counting down the HUNDREDS of days until we go back...I'm a salty/crunchy person, myself - more so than chocolate anyway :) But the treats you're talking about make me want to go hunt some down!

Things I'd love to bring home - if I could LOL
Turkey Legs (DH said that's the ONLY reason he's going back next year! LOL)

Stuffed French Toast from CRT (I know, I found the recipes but it will never be the same!) LOL

Churros from the counter service place in Mexico

TWO WORDS -
DOLE
WHIP

(I never would have known if I hadn't read about it here last year - and I am SO glad we stopped to split a cup even though we were stuffed!) :)

The cake made for my DD by Chef Wade at CRT. It was beautiful and SOOOO good! White cake, whipped cream "icing", strawberry filling, and he wrote "Happy Birthday Sky" in melted chocolate on top that hardened beautifully!!!
It was DEFINITELY the most memorable moment for her and we were so touched that he made such a beautiful cake! :) Unfortunately, it was the beginning of our day at MK and we couldn't carry it around with us, so we had to throw it away
:(

Oh - the CINNAMON ALMONDS! They were piping the smell around the Snow White ride (or Pooh?). There was a little cart nearby and, being pregnant, I couldn't resist the "power of suggestion" :) They were SO good and I'm not a "nut" type person usually.
