What are your favorite places to view Spectromagic and Wishes?

On our next trip, we'll be seeing Spectromagic for the first time ever, and we'll also be seeing Wishes from inside the park for the first time (we were fortunate enough on our last trip to be able to book a Wishes cruise and we, of course, LOVED IT). So I was wondering what all of you kind WDW Veterans think are the absolute best places to view both Spectro and Wishes? TIA!!

Spectromagic is usually better further in the park, get a spot early not in a crosswalk, lol and wait it out. The second show if they have it is usually less crowded. Wishes is jam packed on main street, I would stay by the castle and then take my time leaving, going through the shops if not it will be packed waiting either boat, monorail or bus, yes I prefer the wishes cruise too

So a good, if crowded, viewing spot for Spectromagic can also double as a good location to view Wishes? If so, cool. And, as far as exiting the park, I'll be in NO hurry. I like to people watch, and I've also heard what the monorail/bus/boat crowds can be like at that time.

watch Spectro at the end of the route. Arriving at about the time the parade starts usually gets a front row seat. This past time my four year old daughter sat at my feet and was able to shake hands/high five several characters.

On our last night I was surprised that there were seats outside the Plaza Restaurant during Wishes. We sat and ate ice cream and shopped a little afterwards to allow the crowd to lighten.

Does Spectromagic end between Frontierland and Adventureland? If so, any suggestions of where to watch for that part of the park. We have seen it 4-5 times all from different parts of Main Street. This is our "Do it for the first time" Trip.

We watch Spectro in Liberty Square right in front of the Christmas Shoppe and some other little shop that has an old fashioned buggy in front of it. We usually make our way around in front of the castle to watch Wishes.

We love to watch the parade in front of the castle and then race back to the back of the castle to watch the fireworks.. When you are in the back you have fireworks going off in all directions! No matter where you turn there they are! It is neat to see the castle all lit up but you should see them from the back too!

Our personal favorite spot is up on Main Street just before the circle. Directly in front of the castle. You get a heads on view of the fireworks, but be prepared and get your spot early. People tend to crowd your space even if you've been sitting there patiently for two hours. this is a very popular spot.

Any hints on where to watch if you are going to the 9PM Wishes followed by the 10PM Spectromagic? I expect the crowds will be heavy. We are not worried about leaving the park right away and we woud prefer not having to move over having the "perfect" spot. Advice much appreciated. si is out first trp DS are 10 & 14.

My favorite spot is sitting upstairs at the train station platform. You can look directly down Main Street. Of course the parade is below you a bit, but I still took some great pictures!

Of course you will need to get there REALLY early to get a good spot. But I love the "looking down Main Street" view, especially as all the SpectroMagic floats line Main Street. It is incredible to see this ribbon of lights stretching from Casey's Corner all the way to the Train Station. Amazing!

I really enjoy both Spectromagic and Wishes from the area right in front of the castle. You can sit on the ground and watch it.

My favorite place for Spectro is infront of Liberty Tree tavern. If you get the timing right you can get one of the rocking chairs! Other than that, there are lots of steps and places to sit and rest your back against something and it usually isn't very crowded.

My favorite place for wishes is directly in front of the castle, just like everyone else. It doesn't get much more magical than that!

For Spectromagic, we've gotten in that corner on the bridge between the main hub and Liberty Square across from the Funnel Cake shop. Its pretty good if you get there 30 minutes before, and you can chat with cast members.

For Wishes, its great over by the miniature sculpture of Minnie Mouse, its a great location for photos as well.

I would get there about 3 hours early. You still might be able to find a spot 2 hours out, but I wouldn't chance it. There are several chairs up on the train platform to sit in and tag as your very own . . . but only if you get there early enough.

One year I sat on the ground just behind the railing in front of the chairs and got some great shots! I had just bought a MK beach towel so that was my sit-upon! The people I sat in front of did not mind since they knew I would be seated the whole time. Worked out fine.

Even though 2-3 hours is a lot of "down time" it really is not that bad. I just relaxed, soaked in all the MK sounds and met some nice folks who were also waiting for the parade and fireworks.

This is also a wonderful place to take pictures as night falls. To see the stores on Main Street light up as night falls is just to incredible. You can also see below the CM's who are keeping the crowds entertained right before the parade.

My favorite spot is on Main Street, up by Casey's. Especially for Wishes, it adds so much to the magic to have a full view of the castle.

On our last trip, we did watch Spectromagic from in front of the Liberty Tree Tavern. It was much less congested, and we were able to sit on a wall up until the last minute, and then stand for a unobstructed view of the parade. That part was great. The bad part was the walk to Main Street after the parade. It was wall to wall people, and the castle forecourt was jammed. I did get a little freaked out, as I get clausterphobic, but we did manage to make our way to the sidewalk, where I felt I could breathe.

I would much rather sit on the curb for an hour in order to see Wishes on Main Street then to have to go thru that again.

It is funny you said the train station. That is where I was thinking of watching the parades this year. I have a zoom for my camera should I bring it or will I not need it.
