What are your dining expectations?

I've been reading a lot of posts and it certainly makes me question....what exactly do you expect from Disney as far as dining experience?

My "perfect" dining experience at Disney would include:

-characters that your child can interact with (if at a character meal) without causing the child to forget to eat;

-server who is readily available, friendly;

-food that is good quality & well prepared (ie. correctly cooked and hot if supposed to be/cold if supposed to be);

-refills on things refillable without everyone at the table dying for liquids;

-wait time for table and service within a reasonable amount of time.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head....how about you????

:goodvibes

I expect the food to be cooked. We went to Wolf Gang Puck Cafe in DTD and the adult food was good but we ordered a burger for my oldest DD cooked well. It was served raw inside. That is all you need to have your kids get sick from the food. So we politely sent it back. They sent the bugers back burnt black. Was the chef just having a bad day or can't he even get a burger right. I expected more from the Wolf Gang Puck Cafe.

We expect:

1. To be served by a pleasant server who refills our glasses without being asked.
2. Food to be edible and served the way it's supposed to be -- if it's supposed to be hot or cold then have it served hot or cold.
3.Reasonable requests to be met, ie. if we ask for the steak to be cooked med-well that's what we want -- not something barely cooked or burnt.
4. Not to have to wait forever to either be seated or more annoyingly to have to wait for the bill.

This actually goes for all restaurants not just those in Disney.

I agree with cdnmickeylover with one addition...pace the meal correctly, ie do not bring out my entree before I am finished with my salad.

-refills on things refillable without everyone at the table dying for liquids;

This is huge on our list. At 50's Prime Time last week we never got refills even after asking and it took 20 minutes from the time we ordered dessert to get it. That was even after waiting about 10 minutes after we finished our entree to order the dessert.

Take Gabby & Pati to GF for the Tea
Gardenview Lounge 2:10pm

I hope that the tea is as peaceful and wonderful as it was in 2003. I hope that the server is as attentive as the one we had back then and that My honey and her mother has a wonderful mother daughter bonding experience. I also hope that they buy me some cinnamon tea!

Breakfast at Kona Cafe @ 10:00am
I hope for some rocking hot fresh brewed coffee, some fantastic pancakes for me and some awesome steak and eggs for my honey. I am hoping for a server that has a personality and knows how to fill a cup/glass.

Lunch - Tusker -or- Pizzafari
Either of these meals would be fine for what they serve, I don't have unusually high expectations. I just look forward to the theming of the restaurant.

Starring Rolls/Writer's Stop for Snacky meal
Just something good, quick, and possibly sinful.

Chef Mickey's @ 7:50am
Major expectation of pixie dust, a good breakfast buffet, and fulfillment of a wish to dine here for over 5 years. The wait staff need only point me to a table and the food.

Liberty Tree Tavern @ 2:45pm
Just looking for a quiet place to sit and enjoy a salad. I am hoping for a good server with personality and timing.

Dinner at Raglan Road at 7:45pm
Major expectations. I am hoping for an awesome experience with major pixie dust. My honey went to Ireland earlier this year with her mom. I wanted to go, but this was not possible. Finally, we will be able to share something Irish together, besides Pati O'Furniture. ;) I expect the wait staff to be courteous and good. For the price of the meal, I want to be dazzled with some great service.

Maya Grill @ 7:30am
I just want a nice sit down meal with a quick and personable waitron.

Lunch: Rose & Crown @ 12:00pm
I want the same magic that we had in 2003. The waitress was fun and very skilled at her job. I am hoping for the same again.

Dinner at Pecos Bill's
Who doesn't love being able to make a salad to go with the burger? The fixin's bar rocks!

KRNR Station Smoothies
Starring Rolls
A smoothie and an eclair.....I am almost drooling at the thought. While it's not the breakfast of champions, it will do for this morning.

Lunch - ABC/Backlot/Rosie's
Just want a quick filling meal on the go. No muss no fuss. I love Backlot & ABC, but will consider Rosie's even though I have heard questionable reviews.

The Plaza @ 4:50pm
I can't wait to try this out. I have never seen a bad review of this place. It's not overly popular, but I am waiting to see if this is a hidden gem. I expect to have a great wait staff experience and a meal that is served in a timely and attentive manner.

Ohana @ 10:30am
HUGE expectations! We have always wanted to dine with Lilo & Stitch. I am hoping for some great grub and some major pixie dust. We love Stitch! Our server should be personable and attentive, but this meal is more about our dining companions.

Lunch LeCellier @ 2:10pm
I look forward to a better dining experience than we had in 2003. Our server was aweful that night and the food was hit or miss. I am giving this place a chance to redeem itself. Without some major pixie dust, it's off my list forever.

Dinner at Liberty Inn
I just want a quick, meal with close proximity to the sounds of CP and a view of a great piece of Gingerbread art. I look forward to trying this place. We have never given it a chance.

Lunch at RFC at DTD
We love this place. We have the Safari Club card and can not wait to get back. We have never had a bad meal at any RFC that we have ever gone to and the staff is usually very attentive and personable. I expect the usual.

Grab sandwiches from the Earl of Sandwich for the road
I just want a quick in and out experience here. We have a long road home to Atlanta ahead of us, but wanted to try out this place since it opened. This is the only way that we could squeeze it in. I am hoping that the food lives up to it's reputation!

Now, is that too much to ask?!?! :teeth: Maggie

1.I expect to be seated promptly.
2.I like when the host/hostess sees that we are 2 adults without children and seats us in a quieter section of the restaurant without haveing to ask.
3.The server greets us with menus and takes our drink order (actually this should be #1 but we need to be seated first)
4. Paces the meal
5.Replaces silverware
6.A server who does not interrupt when you are in conversation with the "how is everything" or "can I get you". A good server just has to walk by the table to know without asking or interrupting.
7. Brings cheque in a timely manner.

Not expected but much appreciated:

Refills on wine parings ;)

An honest server who tells you what NOT to order

We'll be there for 8 days. Of the TS meals I expect the following

I expect two really good meals.

I expect two really horrible meals.

I expect four forgettable meals.

I just wish there were some way to tell in advance which ones were going to be which so we could at least skip the bad ones.

friendly server who doesn't think he's doing us a favor waiting on us,actually brings us refills ect but also doesn't think he's "one of the family" and therefore comes by over and over and over( fine line there).

food prepared as advertised in menu and as ordered. ( that should be a given but isn't)

well paced, not rushed( ie appes, entree and dessert within 10 min span) but not snail's paced either( 30 mins+. between courses)

normally we get 2 out of three

we go off season so waits usually are not a really big problem but at another time i would say sit down within 15 mins of adr. as #4
