These are several different brands - often stores around here will have their name brand of packaged meats.

For the roll ups, we prefer the Armour brand or one of the store brands, as the meat slices are square, while budding is round. :confused3 I have no clue why, my IL's just told me to make sure I don't get the round cut slices. It's their prefered snack and I had never had them before I met DH, so I just make them the way they like em.

I just checked my grocery store's online site, and they only have hormel. It's a pretty extensive grocery store, so I guess it's not a popular item here. I've never even heard of it!

CrAzy FetA

The saltiness of the Feta
The brightness of the lemon
The mellowness of the roasted garlic
The spiciness of the jalapeno

Try it, you won't regret it!

I make buffalo chicken dip by cooking chicken breasts in the crock pot with a bottle of hot sauce (4 breasts per bottle of sauce is my normal ratio), the chicken shreds very easily this way.

Layer in a pie dish:

One package of soften cream cheese
Shredded buffalo chicken (about 2 small breasts worth)
Shredded cheddar cheese

Stick in all in the oven until the cheese melts - delicious and always the first thing to go at our parties!

Can ya tell us a li'l more about your cauliflower overnight salad?

Tear a head of lettuce into bite size pieces and put in bowl with lid
Cook, drain and then crumble 1 lb bacon over lettuce
Dice 1 small onion (I usually cheat and rehydrate minced onions in water)

In another bowl mix
2 cups Hellmans mayo
1/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Spread mayo mixture over top of lettuce mixture. Seal lid tightly and refrigerate overnight. The mixture must marinate overnight. Stir well before serving.

No cauliflower?

We go to my aunt's house for Christmas Day and I make the deserts.

This year, I think I'm going to make some Spanakopita as well. I might make those Pioneer Woman bacon things too.

You are welcome!!! I hope you guys like them as much as we do! My kids beg for them year round, but I only make them on special occasions... don't want them to get too used to them, ya know!

I got the ingredients to try this weekend. I got enough for a double batch. :)
I'll let you know how it goes. I'm anticipating a hit!

I'm also looking over the thread for some more dishes to add. There were a lot of great recipes. I'm sure I will try a number of them.

Thanks to everyone!

I make meatballs (or little smokies) and BBQ sauce and add orange marmelade and jellied cranberry sauce to it. Super yum.

Thanks for starting this thread--I have gotten a lot of GREAT ideas!!

Having inlaws over tomorrow for dinner but will serve chili cream cheese dip before.

1 brick of cream cheese
1 can Hormel chili without beans
cheddar cheese to cover
corn chips or scoops

spread cream cheese on bottom of small casserole dish. top with chili then cheese to cover. bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Scoop out with chips.

You MUST make these... you just must!!!

mini phyllo cups
gingersnap cookies, broken up into little pieces
Brie cheese, cut into chunks
hot pepper jelly

Layer the last 3 ingredients into the mini phyllo cups. Bake at 350 for 8 to 10 minutes. People will go crazy for them. The jewel tone color of the pepper jelly looks so pretty. And they are totally addicting and delicious. Everyone will ask you for the recipe. They're spectacular.

Sounds delish!

This thread has me starving! :rotfl:

I love appeitizers. I'm having a party next weekend. I plan on lots of appetizers, though it almost seems like even more work! My husband said we had to have man size things though. Not girly tea sandwhiches:lmao:

The compromise is I'm making a spicy sweet pork loin and a garlicy beef loin that will be sliced to go on small rolls.

Here else is what's on the list:

Cranberry chili meatballs
Buffalo chicken dip
Veggie cream cheese crescents
Bread bowl spinach dip
Wontons
Mini quiches with crescent rolls
Taco dip
Cranberry/jalepeno jelly dip
Fruit skewers
Tomato mozzarella basil picks

Dessert
Peppermint cheesecake
Brownies cutout
Cookie trays
Banana bread pudding
Chocolate dip with dippers

I can't wait to hear what you think!

I didn't read all the posts so sorry if this is on here already.

Ingredients
1 pound imitation crabmeat
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 onion, chopped
1 cup chopped celery
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Directions
1. Mix together imitation crab, cream cheese, onion, celery, and Worcestershire sauce. Form into a ball, place on a plate, and cover loosely with plastic wrap. Refrigerate until firm.
2. Pour chili sauce over top when ready to serve. Spread on crackers.

I'm allergic to crab so I use surami.

HA' PENNY SNACKS

1 stick (1/4 lb.) butter
1/2 lb. grated Cheddar cheese
1/2 pkg. dry onion soup mix
1 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt

Bring butter and cheese to room temperature; mix well. Add rest of ingredients and blend. Shape into 1-inch rolls, wrap in waxed paper or plastic wrap. Chill. Could even be frozen and then thawed until easy to slice.
Heat oven to 375 degrees, quick moderate. Slice 1/4 inch thick. Bake on ungreased baking sheet 10 to 12 minutes until slightly browned.

I think this is it:

Sounds good 'n it's festive.

I like to put this out and it's really easy:

1 jar roasted red peppers, sliced
Chopped garlic
Balsamic dressing
Herbed cheese spread
Thin baguette loaf, sliced

Mix peppers in dish with garlic and just enough dressing to flavor.
On serving platter put out bread slices, cheese and pepper mix.
Spread cheese on bread, then top with spoonful of peppers.
Delish! :cloud9:

Another use for the cheese spread:
Spread on cocktail bread, add sliced cucumber and top with dill.
