What are you scared of???

The only thing I can think of that scares me is what kind of world will there be when my Grandkids approach adulthood.

With all the terrorist activity, the soaring cost of education, jobs heading overseas and "outsourcing" these jobs being defended by our politicians, the out of control medical costs, the "doom & gloom" forecasts concerning Social Security, the record budget deficits combined with the accelerated cost of staples (like milk) and watching asoline prices seem to rise each day (these prices did go down yesterday) and basicallly our difficulties in Trade in a global market.....all this and more make me worry how they will fare when they reach an age to be on their own.

can't stand SPIDERS and SNAKES!

starting to add these darn Cicada's to the list! They are just creepy, and seem to like me. Every day I have at least two or three fly onto me!

I'm completely neurotic about clowns, among other thngs.

Tony, I see bats on your list. One time I had a bat in my CAR!!! Can you just SEE it now??? :o It was back in the days of being poor and having a car with no air conditioner, so I had left my windows down the night before. I got up the next morning and was driving to work and going along my merry way when this SWOOSH goes over my head and lands on the dashboard. At first I thought it was a piece of rubber, like a piece of a tire. Upon further examination, I realized it was a BAT!!! I slammed on my brakes (in the middle lane of a 3 lane highway) and jumped OUT of the car in hysterics. The guy behind me felt sorry for me, thank God, and came to see what had happened. When I told him there was a bat in my car I'm not sure he believed me, but once he opened up the car he yelled "Holy Blankety Blank, thats a BAT!!" Thank goodness he was brave and got the thing out, because otherwise I would have abandoned my car alongside the road. :p

Freaked me out to bats to this day.

Public Speaking.....that is standing at a podium and speaking to a crowd.

And, the more serious things: harm or death of someone I love.

SNAKES!

I can't even watch them on tv. My kids always want to see them at the zoo and I make DH take them. They know I'm terrified of them but they like them. My DD thinks they are cool. YUCK.

being seriously injured or killed in a car accident (or any accident for that matter)

extreme weather situations - devastating floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, blizzards

/
Flying
Bugs-of any kind
Needles (I hate shots, TB tests, anything that requires a needle being stuck in me)
Terrorism
Public Speaking
Birds flying near my head
Driving out of my school parking lot
Snakes

Snakes. I HATE THEM HATE THEM HATE THEM!!! :scared:

Death. After watching my father die, I am petrified of that happening to me. I know that it will eventually happen, but I'm still very much afraid of it.

Sleeping with the closet door open. Can't do it. Won't do it. Never been able to do it.

Sleeping with the tv in my room faced towards me. Ok, I know this is a stupid one, but I have to either have the tv turned to the wall, or have the doors on the tv stand closed. A big fear of mine since I was a kid and saw some ghost story with eyes on the tv.

CLOWNS!!!!! :faint:

Driving a car (I don't mind being a passenger in a car), flying in an airplane and being the victim of a violent crime.

I eventually got over my fear of crickets, which was really empowering to say the least! However, I'm scared of flying crickets, though I'm not at all afraid of grasshoppers-go figure LOL.

I'm also scared of heights but hope to conquer that fear by going skydiving one day.

::MinnieMo

Phobia - spiders and drowning. But mainly spiders.

Scared - being alone at night, really big bugs and sledding. As much fun as DH thinks it is, I just can't throw myself down a hill on purpose. No way. Oh, and Stephen King's IT. :shudder:

Bridges over water are the worst for me - just went over/thru the
chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel this past weekend and it was horrible!!!! We were with DD's choir on their trip and there were 98 teenagers with us on three busses....Come to think of it, I think 98 teenagers on 3 busses were probably the most scariest thing I have ever experienced (hehehe)!!!! But I really meant it about bridges over water!!!!

What am I scared of? The day my daughter becomes a teenager!:scared1:

Fortunately I've got 7 more years to prepare for it ;)
