What Are You Reading Right Now?

This is a tough one for me to recommend to be honest. Mainly because I am conflicted about it myself, LOL.
I really love the storyline but feel like so many better things could be done with it. I also happen to like the characters but I almost feel as if I'm on a merry-go-round with them with as much as every single thing gets repeated in these books.

That being said, I will finish out the series because I feel like I need to see it through and I really do want to find out how it all comes together in the end.

Have you read the second one? Betrayed?

How are you liking, Fantasy in Death? I like the series so far, but I think I'm ready to read some different things for a bit. I do have some books on hold. I've been reading, Ritual in Death, but I've also read a few weight management books as well. Maybe breaking the rhythm has me a little less interested. I don't know. I'm going to try to get back into it this afternoon.

I have not read it......won't pay what Kindle (amazon) wants to charge. I will wait........

I am trying to keep in mind that they are YA books so that I don't become too critical of the writing style. They really are aimed more at keeping the attention of someone my daughter's age than mine. I just happen to be on a supernatural/vamp kick right now and they are abundant in the YA section!

What I'm really waiting for is the new Sookie book to come out!!

I am reading a book titled "Eyewitness Auschwitz" it is written by Filip Muller, who is a survivor of the concentration camps who worked int he crematoriums and gas chambers. It is definitely not a book to read in one sitting, as it is quite disturbing, but also important I think. Not uplifting, but I am not even halfway through yet. It is well written, and an excellent book!

I've read the whole series up through the latest book out. I would have really gotten into this book as a teenager. Like you, I keep in mind who it is written for and have enjoyed them so far. But, they do get a little repetitive and you just want to "kick" the characters from time to time. I feel sometimes the story line is just drug out so that another book can be written. But that's all good since it's geared to a much younger crowd and it's all about making money in the long run.

I finished reading Whitethorn Woods by Maeve Binchy last night. I was pleasantly surprised. It was a little different and I enjoyed it. It was an easy read, a good pool/beach read.

This morning I began Snowfall by Sharon Sala. I'm 75 pages in and it's proving to be an easy read also.

I think this is why I keep reading this series. The overuse of "I heart" to refer to something the characters enjoy has really become kind of painful!

New J D Robb "Fantasy in Death" and "Big Jack" will out on Tuesday!! WOO HOO!!!!!!

I just finished Fantasy in Death -

Just in case you didn't know - "Big Jack" is a reprint - it is one half of the previously released Remember When (it was a half Nora / half JD book).

The publishing companies drive me nuts with these reissues - especially when they change the names

I started Julie and Julia yesterday. It is for my book club and the author is coming to Scranton soon to speak.

I really thought I wouldn't be interested in this book, but I am pleasantly surprised by it. I've read more than 100 pages since last night.

I just finished Water for Elephants. I really enjoyed it!

Loved this book!

I also enjoyed The Time Travelers Wife, My Sisters Keeper and Duma Key; although Duma Key isn't one of Stephen Kings best books. He had another book, Blaze, that came out at the same time and I thought it was much better.

I just finished reading What I Want My Daughters to Know by Elizabeth Noble. It was an excellent read. Once I got started I had a hard time stopping! I'm now reading Up in the Air.

I tried last summer before the movie came out and failed Read about 125 pages and then really didn't care if the meal turned out or not

It turned me off to seeing the movie......any opinions on that?

I haven't seen the movie either so can't give an opinion on it! LOL I have some friends that have seen it and siad they enjoyed it. Does that help?

I thought the movie was pretty good. The book, not so much. I couldn't get past the first chapter.

The movie is sooo good. Meryl Streep is just wonderful. She and her 'husband' make the movie!!

Started The Help. So far its excellent!!

I finished Under the Dome on Friday (audiobook - took me forever to listen to the whole thing!) and finished The Help on the Kindle last night. I aboslutely LOVED The Help - I couldn't put it down.

Under the Dome was good, not great. I have read all things King and I'd rank it pretty low on my list of favorites. But, if you're a King fan, it's (of course) a "must read."

My Guy Barbaro is next. I'm sure I'll cry like a baby with this one.
