What Are You Reading Right Now?

I am reading Turning Angel by Greg Iles, and I am really enjoying it! An awesome thriller about the murder of a high school girl which brings a lot of other things tumbling down on this little town... Really good!

I've read all of Greg Iles' books and Turning Angel is actually one of his not-so-greatly written books (even though I liked it). Make sure you read ALL of his books, especially Dead Sleep. They are very good. I finished his newest one The Devil's Punchbowl last July while I was on my Disney trip.

I am reading Echo in the Bone, the 7th novel in Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series. I'm about ready to give it up. I having a hard time getting into it and it's been 4 nights worth of reading. It's very hard for me to give up on a book and I've only done it once or twice. But, this one is just not "hooking" me at all.

I finished Inkheart, very good book but I noticed they changed the movie quite dramatically. (Still a great movie, no complaints.)

Right now I'm reading Coal Black Horse by Robert Olmstead for history honors. It's related to the civil war. Chapter 4 and it's a very good book.

Next I'll be reading The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne for English honors.

Currently reading The Dark Tide by Andrew Gross. I liked the books that he co-wrote with James Patterson and so far I'm equally impressed with his solo skills. The beginning of the book had a couple of minor similarities to 9/11 and had me in tears thinking about it but it's really more suspense now. :thumbsup2
Thanks for mentioning this. I added it to my library queue today.

I finished "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society" last night. I generally don't like books written in letters, but that was one of the happiest and saddest and quaintest books I've ever read. (It also made me sad because my mom would have loved it.)

Right now I'm reading 92 Pacific Boulevard by Debbie Macomber. Right from the start, I've just loved it-but come to think of it, I love all her books.

I'm starting The Things They Carried tonight after my PTA meeting. The city of Scranton is doing a "Big Reads" where everyone is encouraged to read a specific book and get together to discuss it in their book clubs. It is a Vietnam-era book.

I am currently reading "Wings" by Aprilynne Pike. It is a book my DD12 had just finished. About a third of the way through and it is cute. I just wish I hadn't stumbled across the fact that they are making the movie staring Mylie Cyrus. I would have preferred not to picture the character with someone specific in mind.

:wizard:

Our town is also doing the Big Read. The book chosen for our county is "Tom Sawyer." It's been interesting to see how many people are actually participating.

Just finished Jim Butcher's Small Favors this morning. I am usually a more females-who-kick-hiney type of person. Picture adult versions of Nancy Drew. But for some reason these Jim Butcher Dresden Files books really catch my interest.

Next up are some more Charlaine Harris Aurora Teagarden books and Laurell K Hamilton's Vampire Hunters.

I am reading Another One Bites The Dust by Jennifer Rardin. The lead character is Jaz Parker a kick butt CIA assassin with a vampire partner/boss. They are a lot of fun. They remind me of the Stephanie Plum books by Janet Evanovich as far as the humor.

Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell. This book is great so far, but I guess that's why it's a classic! :P

i just finished reading "Dear John" by Nicholas Sparks. he is my favourite author.

I've just started reading The Master of Time series by Brenda Joyce. A while back I read her DeWarenne Dynasty series and enjoyed them.

When I done with the Master of Time series I going to read Linda Howards The Mackenzie Legacy series.

i just finished reading "Dear John" by Nicholas Sparks. he is my favourite author.

I'm glad you mentioned this book. I saw the movie, "Nights in Rodanthe" this past summer and planned to read some of his books. I've got a hold placed on this book now. Thanks!

Love these books, can't wait for BITE MARKS!

I just finished "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett. Without a doubt, one of the best books I've read in a quite a while.

I'm currently reading "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" by Betty Smith and so far I'm loving it!

I am going to check these out too when I get home from Florida.....

Right now, I am reading Predator by Patricia Cornwell.....Worst Kay Scarpetta book yet. She is way off track since her niece Lucy became a James Bond type...Lost my interest but I have read the series so I feel obligated to read them all.

Thyanks for the new author idea.
