What Are You Reading Right Now?

Right now I'm reading Killer Cruise by Laura Levine. I'm on a cozy mystery/amatuer sleuth kick, and I picked this one because DS also works on a cruise ship.

The Element.
A book about how finding your passion in life can change your life, and bring success to a new level.

The Neighbor by Lisa Gardner. She may be the best suspense writer I have ever read. I have never figured out the "punchline" of her books until the end. And I have often then gone back and re-read the book, knowing the ending, to truly appreciate how she weaved the story together. Awesome, intriguing and totally engaging.

I am getting excited about the new Jon Krakauer book about Pat Tillman. It is supposed to be released on Tuesday.

Here is a story about it on ABCNews.com:

I've read Krakauer's book "Into Thin Air" - and it was mesmerizing. He is an intelligent, thoughtful storyteller. I'm sure he will have some interesting insights on the life of Pat Tillman.

SO I am not a reader (magazines are about my attention span) but I read the WHOLE Twilght series this week. I started the first book the last few weeks but was only at page 130ish. This am I finished reading Midnight sun on her web page. :goodvibes

I'm so proud of myself. My 2 older girls were starting to read the series so we had 3 of the books in the house already. I'm planning a b-day party for my older by going to the movies to see New Moon so I wanted ideas for her party/cake.

We loved the first movie and can't wait for the next one!

For classes:
Respect for Acting - Uta Hagen
White Devil - Stephen Brumwell

For myself:
Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows ( I started re-reading the series again after the movie came out this summer, and I'm almost finished! )

/
Area 7 by Matthew Reilly Straight non-stop action thriller. Totally improbable but lots of fun!!!

I am about half way through at this point.

Paths of Glory by Jeffery Archer. It is about George Mallory and the leading up to and climbing of Mt Everest.

I read Alex Cross' Trial in 2 days while watching my MIL in the hospital and at home while she was sleeping. I kept remembering how much I hated
John Grisham's A Time to Kill while I was reading this and thinking about how much better Patterson was at writing a truly rivoting novel about the atrocities of the KKK in the early 20th century.

Today I start Maus II by Art Spiegleman. I should have that finished today since it's a graphic novel. It starts up where Maus left off, when his parents were sent to Auschwicz.

I can't wait for Dan Brown's book, The Lost Symbol to come out this week. I'm #2 in the queue for this book at the library. I hope the first person reads it quickly.

I ran out of books this week, so had to raid my daughter's bookshelf. I'm currently reading "Book of a Thousand Days" by Shannon Hale. So far, I'm really liking it. I've enjoyed most of her books. I really liked "Princess Academy," "Goose Girl," "Enna Burning," and "River Secrets." Her adult book "Austenland" I really didn't care for.

I'm off to the library tomorrow morning to pick up "Cry the Beloved Country," and "Their Eyes Were Watching God." Hope they're good!

FInished Corsair by CLive Cussler & Jack duBrul Saturday night, fast, fun read. Just started Medusa by Cussler and someone else yesterday, taking it slower to savor.

Last night I started reading We Two about Victoria and Albert from a recommendation from this thread. So far, I'm loving it!

I just downloaded The Lost Symbol, Dan Brown's new book. Also downloaded, Anne Perry's Buckingham Palace Gradens and Execution Dock.

Just finished Wishful Drinking by Carrie Fischer.
It was a one night read. Funny at times- laugh out loud funny but other times so very sad. And it sort of just ended - with no real beginning middle or end. So I say eh. Not as great as Postcards but a light read on electroshock treatment- really somehow she made that all light!

Now reading Attonement by Ian McEwan. Next up, Revolutionary Road. I plan on staying in on an upcoming weekend and watching the movies. :goodvibes

Finished the 8th book(All Together Dead) in the Sookie Stackhouse series, I had trouble getting thru 5 6 and 7, I think I needed a Break, I really liked #8
Read "The Secret Between Us" yesterday
About 1/4 thur "shes come undone" by Wally Lamb
Just got "I know this much is true" Wally Lamb

Sookie Stackhouse series--I read the latest one on Sunday. I can't wait for the next book!
Then I read Hunger Games and Catching Fire on Monday/Tuesday . They were great books. My oldest ds really liked them and I am trying to get my middle ds to read them. So I am reading the first few chapter to him. I wonder when the next book will be out.

I have to take a break from series. So I am currently reading Code Talker by Joseph Bruchac. Oldest ds has been bugging me to read it for awhile. I also started reading The Trouble with Boys by Peg Tyre. I'll have to get back to that when I finish Code Talker.

I just ordered The Absolute True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexia and a couple of Vampire Academy books from Amazon. I have a few other Sherman Alexia books but haven't gotten around to read them.

It has been awhile since I could find a lot of time to read so I am catching up on my reading. My baby started K this year. I have a nice long list of books to read thanks to this thread! :)
