"Joker One" by Donovan Campbell
This is a non-fiction account of military brotherhood during one of the bloodiest periods of the conflict in Iraq. The author is extremely engaging and insightful. A totally worthwhile read.
Thanks for this recommendation. I was looking at this but wasn't sure. :thumbsup2 I'm off to download.

has anyone read The Tea Rose by Jennifer Donnelly? I have just started it. my mom says it is really good... but we have had a difference is reading preferences lately ;)

just wanted to know if it was really good b/c it is long.... and didn't want to waste my time:)

Just finished "Stolen Innocence" by Elissa Wall. It's the true story of a girl that escaped the FLDS compound ran by Warren Jeffs because she was forced to marry when she was 14. The book does a very good job of explaining the belief system of the FLDS (the group whose compound in TX was raided by federal authorities that removed several children).

The Hour I First Believed by Wally Lamb.
I just finished this last night. I'll be honest...........I enjoyed his other 2 books much better. :sad1: This one dragged for me & jumped around too much.

I'm glad I read it, but I would have waited for the paperback had I known I wasn't going to enjoy it as much as I did his others.

I've heard many people give it big thumbs up though, so I hope you like it.

I am reading: "Inside the Apple" a streetwise book on New York...Manhatten especially.;)I am planning a trip there next year, and this book covers the WHOLE History of Manhatten.:teacher:Interesting, its also a walking tour book.

I finished "Marie Antoinette: the Journey." It was FASCINATING! I'm really glad that I read it! There was so much information given that I didn't know.

Now, I'm reading "Snow Flower and the Secret Fan," by Lisa See. I'm loving this one. Very well written, and impactful!

In the last week I finished "Snow Flower and the Secret Fan" which I LOVED! Seriously, if you need a book to read, get this on! Then it was on to "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society". This was for my book club. Another fantastic book! I can't wait for the paperback to be released on the 5th, as I will be first in line to buy one for me and one for my father. So wonderful! Then it was on to "River Secrets" by Shannon Hale. This is the third in a teen age series. I've enjoyed all and this one was no different. Just a fun, easy read.

Now, I'm reading "She Got Up Off the Couch", by Haven Kimmel. Fun read!

Deception Point by Dan Brown. One of the most unintentionally hilarious books I've ever read.

Just finished "Bright Lights, Big ***" by Jen Lancaster. She's awesome. I highly recommend her books to anyone that has a twisted sense of humor.

I really like Jen Lancaster I recently read one of her books, about weight loss can't remember the title something about Such a Pretty Fat, hilarious!

Right now, I'm reading The Air That Kills; it's about the victims of the tremolite asbestos that was exported with vermiculite from a mine in Libby, MT. It's truly horrifying.
