A Lesson Before Dying for English class.

The Devil Wears Prada for pleasure/free time.

The invention of Hugo Cabaret by Brian Selznik. It's a great 500-page novel with pictures and words (lots of pictures). If you're into graphic novels or just graphics or children's book then this is a must-read!

Just finished "Dollar Daze" by Karin Gillespie.
Fun read, I actually laughed out loud.......sort of a very happy Steel Magnolias.
Started "The Betrayal" by Beverly Lewis last night.....2nd book in a 5 part series......Amish family with 5 daughters & MANY secrets!

I'm in a dry spell right now. After several good reads, I got stuck on Palace Walk, so set it aside (planning to return to it at some point) to read The Story of Edgar Sawtelle. It's very different but I am not loving it yet...and I am almost halfway through.

On the bus/work breaks - Janet Evanovitch's "Plum" series (again - thanks to another thread on these boards!!)

For serious/at home (ie-when I can read for more than 5 min without being interrupted) - Beijing Doll (Autobiographical story of young, modern, mainland Chinese female. Certainly has blown a few of my preconceptions out of the water!)

Im still struggling with " We need to talk about Kevin ."

I dont want to give it up but its a toughy...

I know folks rave about it but if im struggling so much will i get anything out off it ?

I am reading "The 19th Wife" and really enjoy it so far. Helping me get through the weeks without Big Love. :)

I just finished Handle with Care by Jodi Poccolt and and reading Mounting Fear by Stuart Wood.
Debbie

I just started "Waiting to Exhale" by Terry McMillan. I have never seen the movie and saw the book on the bargain rack at the bookstore. It looks like a quick fun read.

I finished "The Boleyn Inheritance" by Phillipa Gregory this weekend. I enjoy her historical/fictional books...more than I thought I would.

I almost bought "The Story of Edgar Sawtelle" at the bookstore. I enjoy Stephen King and I read that he could not put this book down. I was curious as to what kind of book Stephen King could not stop reading.

I'm in a weird spot emotionally in my life right now. I want to read this book, but think I had better wait until a better time. Thanks for sharing your insights.

I finished "Swans Way" and am now reading "Doomed Queens" by Kris Waldherr. It is a book about all of the doomed queens in history and even some modern politicians and princesses, it gives a brief biography of each and how they died. As morbid as it sounds, the author takes a humor to each of them, so you aren't reading a gory book.
