What Are You Reading Right Now?

Right now I'm reading The Winter Lodge by Susan Wiggs. I do enjoy her books. Next up is The Cat Who [talked to birds?] All I remember is that it's one of Lillian Jackson Braun's books. She was recommended to me because I've read a few "cozy mystery" books and really enjoyed them.

I've taken Silence of the Lambs off the bookshelf and I'm going to start it in the morning. I know it will make my heart beat faster than the movie does. I can't wait! Thanks for the encouragement on here and in PMs for me to read this book!

I did enjoy Tailspin by Catherine Coulter.

And I just finished Chasing Harry Winston by Lauren Weisberger. (author of The Devil Wears Prada)

It left me wanting more.

Next up is Tribute by Nora Roberts

Just started "The Pixar Touch....The Making of a Company"

I bought Tribute the other day and haven't cracked it open yet. My '09 Unofficial Guide came yesterday along with some throwaway Diana Palmer quickies so I ahve a stack now, just can'te get the energy up to read. It's rained for the last few days here (Thanks Fay) so all I want to do is lie around. :rotfl:

I just finished Tribute and loved it. :thumbsup2

Glad to know it's typical Nora Roberts, in other words, good. :thumbsup2: Right now I'm breezing through these throw away Diana Palmers. They take no concentration but are so quick I can't stop!

Just started Summer Blowout by Claire Cook.

Seems like it is going to be a quick read.

I read, "Change of Heart", by Jodi Picoult. It was good, but the ending was strange and unsatisfying to me. Without giving away too much, I thought the, "known vs unknown" was a convenient ending. Overall, I like Jodi Picoult's writing style. I will try another of her books.

I just finished, "It Only Takes A Moment", by Mary Jane Clark. Didn't understand the ending of that one at all. Has anyone read this book? It took a strange twist at the end that caused me to re-read sections to see if I missed something. As far as I can tell, I didn't. Either there is a case of people having more than one identity or I'm nuts (which I'm not ruling out). I'm not opposed to an author using more than one identity for a character, it just was never introduced or even nunaced as such. I was left scratching my head wondering, "What just happened?". Not satisfied with this book.

I'm now reading, "Where Are You Now", by Mary Higgins Clark. I like her style and I know she will wrap it up neatly. :)

I'm pretty sure I read this, but I'm having a brain fart as to remembering it. :goodvibes Was this the one about the memory loss & the Native American?

This book is about a woman that lost her husband and child in a car accident, remarried and had other tragedies.

Nope, didn't read it then. Is that her newest? I'm confusing myself, I think!

For some reason, I don't think it's her newest. I kind of thought this was the book that Lindsay had read it and wanted to throw it across the room at the end. I remember her wanting to throw some book across the room (and she's mentioned J.P. before). I'll join her and throw this book half-way across the room. Just half-way because it was pretty good until the end (to me that is). :)

I read the Full Series by Janet Evanovich and Charlotte Hughes

Full Bloom, Full House, Full Tilt, Full Scoop, Full Speed and Full Blast.

Also read Deep Dish by Mary Kay Andrews.

I enjoyed all of them.

Hurricane Punch by Tim Dorsey ... it seems appropriate as I live in SC and hoping Hanna decides to go back out to sea!

Next on the list is The Jansen Directive by Robert Ludlum.

Actually, I don't get to read a lot. I listen to a lot of books from Audible on my iPOD.

I finished You Suck by Christopher Moore over the weekend and I finished Enchantment by Orson Scott Card last night and I breezed this morning through a book about life in the middle ages.

If you like Russian fairytales, you'll love Enchantment. Every time I'd read to my kids' classes, I'd always pick a Russian fairytale. The other mothers were bitter because the kids liked when I read to them more than anyone else. I think it was because my DD and one of her classmates were both born in Russia and were adopted from the same orphanage and they'd both get excited about any Russian words that would come up in the text and they loved hearing stories about the firebird, Emelia, Grandfather Frost and the Snow Maiden. This book was right up my alley!

I just finished, "Where Are You Now", by Mary Higgins Clark. It was great. I really enjoyed reading it. This book started with the end and worked it's way backwards. Good who done it. :)

I'm now reading, "When Day Breaks", by Mary Jane Clark. Another who done it. I'm into about the 9th chapter and it's good already. I'm glad I've given her another try. :)

Someone on these boards recommended Oracle Bones by Peter Hessler. It's about China and its transformation into the modern world. I'm really enjoying it.
