Is this fiction or non-fiction? I'm currently reading a completely fluff book.......Sisters by Danielle Steel.

I recently finished Post Mortem by Patricia Cornwall. It was the first book of hers that I ever read. It was pretty good. I won't run out to buy one but I eventually might try another.

LOL, Sisters was my "beach book" Spring Break this year. First DS book I had read in years. It actually wasn't that bad. Thea early Cornwell books are a lot betterthan the new ones, I actually purchased her last Scarpetta novel in hardback when it came out and haven't even cracked it.

I read The Ruins. I will want to know what you thought.

I just finished Duma Key by Stephen King. Very enjoyable in a creepy way. Not as scary as Salem's Lot or The Shining, but still very good. How SK can look at a tropical beach and make it spooky is very impressive!

I am about half way through it. It seems to be getting a little predictable, but I don't know how they are going to manage to escape...if they do!!!

I'm in the middle of Shock by Robin Cook.

How is it? I haven't read any of his in years, but I enjoyed to ones I did read. I actually had his newest paperback in my hand last week, but put it back and grabbed The Ruins instead.

I am so happy our busy season is over and I can get back to reading wach day. I am not into really heavy reading but I am working on 2 books at the same time.

I am reading Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince at night before going to bed.

At the hospital (DH is going to be there at least a week) I brought Kathy Reichs' Bones to Ashes...in the Temperance Brennan series. I love it.

I have a few James Paterson novels on deck as well as some Patricia Cornwell...

"Women of the Silk" by Gail Tsukiyama. It's fiction, set in 1920s China. I love Chinese books, particularly the ones from that era.

I'm reading "Book of the Dead" by Patricia Cornwell. I love her.

The Perfect Husband is fiction.

So, she's just like James Patterson... :rolleyes1 While I continue to read everything he writes, his older books are much better than the newer ones. I like him better when he writes alone.
I finished the Fountainhead 2-3 weeks ago and I am about half way through Atlas Shrugged now, both are by Ayn Rand.
How is Atlas Shrugged? I've been toying with reading this book since college (20+ years ago) but I don't want to pick it up if it's not any good.

I hope you're DH is back to normal very soon and the hospital time passes quickly with no pain for him.

"what's a cook to do?" (james peterson)

i'm mainly reading thru for cooking tips....

Thanks...He's in for knee replacement (they are replacing the one they gave him in 2006 because it was not stable enough). He's doing well but the days are long. I am off to see him in a few minutes and will bring my book cause he sleeps a lot still...He's a lot stronger than me.

I started Shakespeare's Trollop this morning. It's by Charlaine Harris. I'm working my way through her Shakespeare novels now. I also promised my DS that if he gets Catch 22 out of his school library, I'll read it out loud to him. He's 13 and loves when I read to him. He just doesn't always pick books that interest me, too. This one did.
