Just finished James Patterson's 'Kiss the Girls. A bit gruesome, but well written and held my attention throughout. So.......seeing as I got a Kindle for Christmas, I have just downloaded a couple more of his Alex Cross ones to read. Also love Michael Connelly, but waiting for that to come down in price before downloading.

I just read "Cast Member Confidential" about a guy who went to work for WDW...it was crazy and a little seedy, but I couldn't put it down. So then I got "Mousetrapped" about an Irish girl who comes to WDW to work on a J-1 visa, it's just as good, but much cleaner than the previous one. Totally different types of stories. Cast is more about the things that happen at WDW that you would never believe, while Mousetrapped is more the coming of age story about the girl, that just happens to take place at WDW.

I'm probably going to read The Lost Symbol after I'm done with American Gods. B&N has TLS for only $4 right now for the Nook, and I've got tons of Gift Card money sitting in my account, so I grabbed it.
Do you know how to check the balance remaining on your account for the Nook? Do I need to check using the physical gift cards? I do have the gift cards, but I already loaded them on to the B&N store & have bought a few books for my Nook Color with them.

Go to bn.com and in the top right click on "My Account" then "Account Settings" from the drop down.

On the next page over on the right there's a section that says: "GIFT CARDS/CERTIFICATES" Under that heading click on "Manage Gift Cards for eBooks"

The next page should have a section that says "Total Gift Card/eGift Card/Certificate Balance"

:thumbsup2

I read CMC and hated it, I thought the author was trying really hard to be controversial or something, I just didn't click with him. However, I haven't heard of mousetrapped and it sounds good, so I added it to my to-read list :)

I requested a book from the library called Dream Factory which takes place in WDW, someone mentioned it on the books/tv thread and it sounded good if anyone is interested!

I kind of agree wirth you. It was hard sometimes to tell if CMC was a true story or ficton; or a Fear and Loathing mix of the two. I found it entertaining, but decided to treat it as semi-fiction.

If you have an e-reader you can get a free sample of Mousetrapped. The sample was quite long. I think I paid $2.99 on Kindle for the whole book.

I'm not sure why I'm on this WDW kick (except that we're going there in a week!) but I'm going to see if I can pick up Dream Factory, sounds interesting. Thanks for helping me find a new read :goodvibes

Currently reading "No Ordinary Time." Doris Kearns Goodwin's history of FDR & Eleanor & the home front during World War II. I rec'd 3 different FDR bio's for Christmas (along with one on Teddy) and will be working my way through them for a while!

Last week I read Bones by Jonathan Kellerman (we have so many Kellerman books, DH and I both read the Alex Delaware series.) This weekend I read Deadwatch by John Sanford (another author DH and I love, we have several different series that he writes.) I finished up Dean Koontz's new one (What The Night Knows) today but DH hates Koontz so that one is all mine :goodvibes I loved it, it scared me snotless!

I just found Rough Country (Sanford) on our bookshelf, DH left it last time he was in so I am about to start it and am planning to buy Stephen King's Full Dark, No Stars and Patricia Cornwell's Port Mortuary to get me through the next week. DH won't read King at all but he may read Cornwell if he runs out of his own stuff :rotfl:

After a series of duds not worth listing here, I am reading Olive Kitteridge and it has captivated me so far. It's a series of short stories involving different people, all linked together by a woman named Olive Kitteridge. I am not sure where it's going, but each story is a jewel on its own.

currently reading Beautiful Disaster by Kate Brian, I read probably 1 of these books a day, I can't get enough! :)

Anyway, now I'm reading Someone Knows My Name by, Lawrence Hill and I'm absolutely loving it!

I read this some months ago. If you like this book read Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl Written by Herself by Harriet Ann Jacobs. It was free on my kindle and it was a great book!

I'm reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and Second Nature by Michael Pollan. The latter to get me ready for spring planting!

It's very cute! Couple of Disney facts that didn't work, but a sweet, quick read.

I'm reading Corsair by Clive Cussler and John de Brul (I think that's his name, I don't have the book beside me).

And another book I'll be reading throughout the year is Month-by-Month Gardening in Texas by Dan Gill and Dale Groom.

How is this? I've read 2 of his books, and saw this one on the Nook, but hadn't heard much about it.

I like it. First one of his I have read. He talks about having 2 gardens, an imaginary, perfect garden and his actual garden. I'm only 1 chapter in but I am enoying it.

I have this for Pennsylvania. It's really helpful.

Looking for Calvin and Hobbes by Nevin Martell.

I love Calvin and Hobbes and this book gives me more info about my hero
Bill Watterson.
