What Are You Reading Right Now? Part II (Incomplete book list in 1st post)

Right now I am reading through the Maximum Ride series by James Patterson. It is roughly based on the idea of the kids for the Lake House book, but NOT the same kids exactly. I loaded the first 3 as part of a boxed set into the Nook, and am in the second book in it, but I am not sure what the title is specifically. Anyway, they're pretty good, and will be a series that my 10 year old can read too.

I received Dean Koontz's "A Big Little Life: a memoir of a Joyful Dog" for Christmas. I just finished reading it this afternoon and cried my eyes out.

I hate to admit it because I have dogged it for ages, but I actually just started the first Twilight book on my Nook. It was free so I thought what the heck.

I got a few pages into Nora Roberts, Vision in White and even though it seems like something I might possibly like, it wasn't cutting it for me. I just finished Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter and need something that is just absolutey complete fluff. My brain needs to relax. LOL!

I'm about halfway through American Gods by Neil Gaiman on my Nook (library loan). It's not grabbing me the way his YA fiction does (Coraline, The Graveyard Book), but I'm going to stick it out.

starting Privilege by Kate Brian, and also began My Booky Wook by Russell Brand

I read it five or six years ago & enjoyed it very much.

How was it? I thought his other books were like brain candy, fast reads and kind of interesting, but not very deep and with not much character development.

The Lost Symbol was more far-fetched than the others. I enjoyed DaVinci and A&D, but I think this one sealed the deal on being the last Robert Langdon book I'll read.

That is pretty much it. The book came out right after we went to Washington DC for vacation so it was fun to read to "remember" all the sights we saw.

I liked American Gods, though thought it a little on the odd side. I hadn't put that together with Coraline, etc.

I agree with the person who said Twilight = fluff, I think that's what I liked about them, honestly. Sympathetic character development and fluff reading.

I liked DaVinci and A&D, so might have to check that one out.

I am reading On Gold Mountain: The 100 Year Odyssy of my Chinese American Family by Lisa See. It's the story of her great grandfather who immigrated from China and became the 100 year old "godfather" of Chinatown in Los Angeles.

It's interesting but not captivating.

re: The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown
I actually enjoyed it. It was very fast-paced, a lot of cliffhangers/plot twists. (Typical Dan Brown.) The ending left a little to be desired. Overall, I thought it was a good ride, with an anti-climactic ending.

I'm probably going to read The Lost Symbol after I'm done with American Gods. B&N has TLS for only $4 right now for the Nook, and I've got tons of Gift Card money sitting in my account, so I grabbed it.

Has anyone ever read either of the "The Locator" books? (There is a proposal to do a spin-off of television series "Bones", based on those books.)
