This was one of my favorite threads last summer. I leave in 3 weeks so I just got on the waiting list for some books for my Nook for our local library. The two I looking forward to are The Scent of Rain and Lighting by Nancy Pickard and The Confession by John Grisholm. So what are you bringing to read?

I have "Catching Fire" and "Mocking Jay" from the Hunger Games series waiting on my Nook. Of course, I also have two or three months worth of National Geographic and at least two months of Smithsonian Magazine on there too! And since my cruise is still 25 days away, I have no idea what else will find its way onto the Nook!

I already read it...but highly recommend the latest Kingdom Keepers book, SHELL GAME as it takes place on the DREAM with stops at Castaway Cay.

As for me, I will either read Shades of Gray or one of Carl Hiassen's booksn Double Wammy.

I don't have a reader (my mom does and said I could borrow it but I really like the feel of a book in my hand.). I want to bring:
"Of Poseidon" by Anna Banks
"Starters" Lissa Price
"Glitch" Heather Anastasiu

(I want fiction that is fun and fluffy. Right now I am reading "Out of Oz." Love it. I am intentionally reading it slow. I want to read "50 Shades of Gray" just to know the hype.)

On my first cruise back in December I loaded my Nook Color with a few new books thinking I would spend a lot of time relaxing and reading. In reality I only found time to read a couple of times during our 7 day cruise. I was so busy doing all the fun stuff on the ship that I just didn't have time to read much.

For me it might be class books if the courses I take next Spring are still in session. If not I'm trying to read the Game of Thrones series.

I LOVE the Hungar Games Books! I am a big reader, I worked at Borders for 11 years before they closed there doors last September. I am going to bring Bring Up the Bodies, the follow up to Wolf Hall (winner of the Man Booker Prize). That is if I can keep my hands off of it until then.:joker:

We have never cruised before and my husband scoffs at the idea of bringing books. But there is always time for a book, right?

I love reading, Preston and Child, Tony Hillerman, William Kent Krueger, Clive Cussler, Dan Brown, Michael Jecks, and many more.

I just finished The Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet and Sarah's Key, both historical fiction from WWII, excellent books. I am trying to hold off starting Orphan Sister so I can save it for my cruise.

Nora Roberts' The Witness is pretty good.

As far as not having time to read, it depends on how long the cruise is, and how active you want to be. On the recent 15-day Hawaiian cruise, DH read 9 books and I read 3-1/2.

July cruise - I've bought: Chris Matthews book on JFK, (classic) Around the World in 80 Days, David Balacca's (sp) book The Innocents and Michael Connley's book the Drop. Best place to read is on a very slow cruise.

I'm almost done the 2nd book of the Fifty Shades of Grey series. SOOOO GOOD. Very sexy, but oh so good!

I really wanted to read the Kingdom Keepers book as I saw it advertised on Disney Channel! Sadly, all the books are on the hold shelf at my local library!

Heading out tomorrow morning to pick up some (really) last-minute goodies, including 50 Shades of Grey (maybe the other 2 as well). I'll probably start it tomorrow since I'm packed and have to wait until 4ish for hubs to come home to start driving down to Florida for our first cruise!!! :cool1:

If you read books on a Kindle or ipod, Amazon has these books at a very reasonable price - 6.99 I think.

We are leaving this Saturday and I have the first Hunger Games book to waiting read and am looking for something else to read....
