OKW Lovers Thread. Part 2

I just placed an order for delivery on 3/3. I put in the notes my name as the resort guest and asked for things to be left with hotel staff until I get there. Now my email receipt says I need t o be present for delivery. What did I do wrong and can I fix it?
Did you have alcohol? Notated leave at bell services should have been sufficient.

Hey everyone. Considering doing 3-4 nights at OKW using my DVC points, but in reality we want to do a 5-6 night stay. We are considering paying cash for the 1-2 night stay, either at the front-end or back-end of the DVC stay (either way, it's consecutive).

My issue is, with DVC you can book "Near HH" which is what we want. But with the cash stays on Disney's website, you can only select a 2-bedroom. This leads me to believe that "Near HH" is only a room request when paying cash, as opposed to a selectable view category.

This means there is a scenario where we get placed in a different 2-bedroom (away from HH) for the cash portion of our stay, no? That is kind of a dealbreaker for us.

At least when combining cash/DVC at other resorts, if you are picking the same view category, you can assume with large certainty that they won't move you to a different room, but in theory if all the "near HH" rooms are booked via DVC, I'd assume they'd chuck the cash stay people away from HH since it was only a room request.

If this has been discussed please let ne know. Ive noticed the 2027 point chart for the week of 3/20-3/28 changed from 308 weekly to 415 weekly in 2027 at OKW. Trying to figure out where did the decrease in points go for such a big increase in March. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Near HH at OKW is a guaranteed booking category for DVC reservations only. Try booking the cash reservation through DVC Member Services, they may be able to get that booking category for a reservation that they book. Regular cash reservations can not. This was made clear when the category was created many years after the resort opened. Regular cash reservations have little to no chance of being placed in Near HH, and would have an extremely high probablility of having to move. There are rooms quite convenient to HH that are NOT in the near HH booking category, like bldg 15 and 16. Your best bet to not move would be to rebook as not near HH, and specifically request one of those building, blgs 27 and 28 are also fairly nearby. You could also request one of the 60s buildings, but they are ofen used for Near HH overflow if a room or bldg goes out of service, or used for those that can not do stairs, as they are the only 3 bldgs with elevators.

Thank you, this was exactly my concern! I appreciate the solid tips if I ever did go this route.

Hi there!
My DD22 and I are checking to OKW (studio room) for the first time in 63 days. We are very excited to stay and explore this resort.

I have a refrigerator question……is it a fridge only or does it have a small freezer inside. I know it’s not a full fridge, but some little fridges do have that tiny freezer. We’ll be checking into the resort after we go to a grocery store, so I don’t want to buy anything that requires a freezer if there’s no freezer.

Next, toaster question……is there a toaster in the room? We always eat breakfast in our room in an effort to save some money. If not, can I request one?

Last, is there a measuring cup in the room? I’d like to bring some instant oatmeal packets from home and I need to heat up water in the microwave. If there isn’t one, can I request one?

We stayed at BLT last year and I didn’t need these items last year. We ate breakfast in our room, but it was just NutriGrain bars and bananas. I’d like to have more variety this year.

One more question…..does OKW have a place for refrigerated items if our room isn’t ready when we get there? I’ve never needed to leave refrigerated groceries in the past at any resort.

Thanks in advance for answering my questions :smickey:
