What are they thinking (tangentially travel-related)?

Home Shopping Network had an hour-long show on travel supplies - messenger bag, weekender, couple of other items... and a FIVE PIECE luggage set that all hooks together and for which they were extolling the "advantages" for air travel...

Do you have a link? I cannot fathom how 5 pieces could all be attached together nor why anyone would really need 5 pieces of luggage (learn to consolidate!!)

Lately I have been so frustrated with the lack of overhead space if a bin is not available right over my seat and just ask it to be gate checked (and brought back up to the jetway). I'm not swimming 30 rows up-stream anymore to get my bag.

Can we please move to the European system!!

They are thinking what they always are ...

"There's a sucker born every minute." ;)

I will bet a Mozartkugel that at least one piece of that luggage is 32 inches tall! :lmao:

There's no photograph of the three suitcases piggybacked, with the two totes on top, but there is a link to the video presentation that just might show it.

I agree - who NEEDS five bags? I can go to Las Vegas for a week with one 24" (whose contents include a collapsible stepladder) and one bag that fits under the seat in front of me.

Huh.

I was wrong.

There, my fan club, I do freely admit when I was wrong.

I was shocked to see while in America recently that the original Mozartkugeln from Mirabell are now distributed by Kraft*. :scared1: Oh well, I prefer the Bavarian produced Reber ones anyways. I'm certain that I can dig around in the bottom of one of my travel bags and find one from a previous LH flight for you, kaytieeldr!

* Then again, I had a German colleague who insisted that Kraft is a Germany company - you know, 'Kraft' = 'strength'

I have heard some wacky stuff goes on in Vegas but a collapsible stepladder? Wow. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas right?:rotfl:

ahhh... the exclusive "Snakes on a Plane" collection from the Home Shopping Showgram. Clearly made to withstand the brutalizing any ramper worth his (or her) salt can dish out...

Good luck with that! ;)

Okay, you're all upset about 5 pieces of luggage? I'm upset about it coming in "snake-print". :rotfl:

Hang on! It comes in CHOCOLATE! :yay:

Did you see 'caramel'? It's even more fashionable than snakeskin....

Me, when I went to Ireland, in '95. :scared: For a week. :3dglasses

What can I say? I was 25, we had a B&B/car package through Aer Lingus, and it was my birthday trip and I wanted to look CUTE. I think one of those bags had nothing but shoes.

My traveling companion thought I was an idiot. :goodvibes But SHE didn't have to carry any of the bags, it wasn't affecting her universe other than by embarrassment. :dance3:

:sad2:

Thankfully we've all been a good influence on you since! (ok, I will admit that I went a little crazy on the shoe front this week and bought three new pairs, but when I am lucky enough to find cute quality shoes in my size marked down from $150 for $24,99 I am definitely allowed!)

I like how the first reviewer who purchased this product plans to return it to the shopping channel because the airline mishandled her bag and gouged a chunk of the fake croc material... :lmao:

You'd think... ;) I'm too short to get into many hotel beds - trip before last, I had to have two different hotels swap out the mattresses (after one desk clerk's 'solution' was, "well, when you're ready to go to sleep, call Security and they'll send someone up to help you into bed"!), so now I travel with a stepstool. It's pretty cute - so cute, inn fact, that I bought three!

When I saw this post title I thought it was going to mention this:

Human "bed-warmers" at Holiday Inn

International hotel chain Holiday Inn is offering a trial human bed-warming service at three hotels in Britain this month.

If requested, a willing staff-member at two of the chain's London hotels and one in the northern English city of Manchester will dress in an all-in-one fleece sleeper suit before slipping between the sheets.

"The new Holiday Inn bed warmers service is a bit like having a giant hot water bottle in your bed," Holiday Inn spokeswoman Jane Bednall said in an emailed statement to Reuters.

The bed-warmer is equipped with a thermometer to measure the bed's required temperature of 20 degrees Celsius (68 Fahrenheit).

Holiday Inn said the warmer would be fully dressed and leave the bed before the guest occupied it. They could not confirm if the warmer would shower first, but said hair would be covered.
