that we will get an upgrade? We booked in May of 2003 for our May 8th Magic cruise and were given a room assingment at that time. Do we have a shot at getting an upgrade? Please, Please, Please

The only factor I've seen in my entire time of reading this forum that seems to make the odds a bit higher is if you actually have your cabin # assigned or not. The people who do not have a cabin number assigned seem to get upgrades more often. Really can't give you good odds, as it really depends on how booked the cruise is.

Somebody here did some math and came up with 4% of cruisers get an upgrade. Don't know how accurate that is. But certainly not everyone gets an upgrade (or why would some of us pay for verandas).

Hey GoofyGuy....I would gladly give you my Catagory 6 room on that cruise if I got an upgrade LOL!! I check every day but we still have the same room we booked.....its ok with me though, I picked the location and booked the room I wanted so upgrade or not we will be happy. It seems more people from the lower catagories get upgraded. See you in 52 days!!

I truely beleive that the odds are slim to none of getting a room upgrade. However you do have a much better chance of getting an upgrade than hitting the lottery jackpot (since your chances there start at none and go downhill from there)

aprilgail2, I'll take it!!! Seriously, I would be very happy with the room we booked since I only plan on sleeping in it. There are, after all, a lot of activities on board. RIGHT??? I just thought it would be nice to have a port so we could look at the world passing by. I started my DD on a plan to help her count down the days. She got a deck of cards out and each day we flip one over to signify the one day closer to the MAGIC.

MarkRG, I never was good with gambling so I booked a room of my DWs choosing. I am going to be at port early so I will shoot for the upgrade at that time.


Crisi, 4% HUH. Sounds like someone has too much time on their hands. If it wasn't for the DISboards I would have never known about the possibility of an upgrade. So you live and learn -- lots of great info here but don't get your hopes up for an upgrade too much.
