What are the crowds like in late April/early May?

I can remember going during the summers with 3 hour waits for most of the rides when I was younger - but my trip in 01/02 really spoiled me.

We arrived the day before the marathon and stayed a week - so it was rather busy the first two days then almost empty after that - we were able to do ALL the rides in the MK and eat lunch before 1pm - and we did many twice.

We are going to be in the world from 04/26-05/03 for our honeymoon - what kind of crowds and lines can we really expect?

I'd call it "moderate". Word is getting out how nice it is this time of year so the crowds are increasing but it is nowhere near what you describe. Weather is usually very nice -- only had days of rainy/cold weather on one trip out of about 8 that time of year. It can sometimes get hot but it's not humid like real summer. People are less likely to pull kids out of school for trips this time of year because school is almost over. You may enounter groups of teens who are participating in Disney Music Days but they just add to the fun and entertainment around the parks. You'll also get the benefit of Epcot looking its best with the Flower & Garden Show.

Ooh, I'll be in the World about the same time!

Moderate is the best way to describe the crowds, like Pam said. Long waits for the big stuff during the day, but you can be on most things within 20 minutes.

In the past, Disney has done Grad Nites for high school seniors about this time, so you may find yourself surrouded by some really excited 18 year olds for a few nights, but it's not too bad at all.

In general though, it's one of my favorite times to go. As much as I like going in Nov/Dec when things are nice and empty, there's something about a little more of a crowd that just adds to the atmosphere some how, if that makes sense!

Hope you have a great trip!

PS- Your name made me grin, because I have a cat named Lilly!

We were there end of April/beginning of May 2003. The weather was beautiful. It was in the mid-80's. We had just a little rain on a few afternoons. The crowds were not heavy at all. We took advantage of fastpass and didn't wait more then 10-15 minutes for most rides. Now, fantasyland did get kind of crazy in the middle of the day, but we just did the rides there during EE and then stayed away during the afternoon. The parks are very manageable during this time. It is definitely one of my favorite times to go.

LOL I have two cats actually! they miss us horribly whenever we go it takes them a few days when we come back to get adjusted - so now whenever we pack they crawl into our bags as if they want us to take them with us!

That is great - where will you be staying? At the poly too?

We arrived on 4-30 for 5 days and it was busy, but you we did everything we wanted....:hyper: DD and I had a great time. We took our time and used fast pass and things worked out great. We only had rain one day and the rest were warm and nice. I think you will have a great time. Just get up early and get to the parks and you will get more done. MK always got crowded by noon and the Spectromagic parade was also very crowded. I think that is because they only had it once during the week and everyone went!!::MinnieMo I don't know why they do that.
