What are the codes?

I'm new. I'd like to know what the codes are for that everyone is waiting for. We will be going to WDW in January 2003 for 4 days plus (hopefully) a 7 day cruise. This will be our first trip to WDW but we live fairly close to Disneyland.

Welcome to Disboards!

The codes that we are talking about refer to the "discount codes." Periodically, WDW releases discount "codes" to the general public so that we can save some dough on the trip. For example, everyone is currently anticipating discount codes which can be applied to trips in between October til mid of December. In May, Disney released codes for travelling in between August to end of September.

Since you are travelling in Janurary of 2003, codes that you can use will probably come out around October or so. Just look for the expiry date of the codes that come out tomorrow (hopefully) and add a week or two to get the next code releasing date.

I was thinking about reserving the Jan. 2003 resort and cruise soon through a travel agent. By waiting until October discounts to book I may not have much choice on WDW resort or cruise cabin. I guess that's the idea behind discounts, they discount what they haven't booked. What do you think?

I would book the cruise now! I believe there is a $100 onboard credit special going on now. Check Mousesavers.com for details. As for the WDW room, I would wait for codes. Most of January is really slow.

Thanks. I've learned so much! I think there's a discount on WDW when you're also booking a cruise. I'll have to compare prices and weigh it with the risk of waiting. In order to get an accurate picture of discounts should I use the Disney website rates for resorts as full price?
