... obvious responses will be the many steakhouses but I am wondering which ones will be best.

dh and I are low-carb dieters. Prime Rib tastes great without any sauces and we don't make it at home so it's a good entree for us, but if any other low-carbers have any suggestions, please let us know. We are both nervous that we will fall off the wagon in WDW.

Thanks for your help

Since I absolutely LOVE prime rib, I think I can help you here.

1. Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club
2. Concourse Steakhouse at the Contemporary
3. Cinderella's Royal Table in the Magic Kingdom
4. Rose & Crown at the UK pavillion at EPCOT

These were some of the best pieces of prime rib I've ever had!!
:smooth:

CRT and Chef Mickey's always have good Prime Rib. In fact, the best prime rib I had on our December trip was at Chef Mickey's. Very tender and the taste was wonderful. They have an au jus on the side, so you can take what you like.

The prime rib at Boatwrights Dining Hall at POR is good also. We eat there once a trip. I always get the prime rib there, it is that good.

I did not like the prime rib at Le Cellier. The filet was excellent. I had the prime rib there in the past and did not like it, and hubby had it last trip and he said it wasn't that great either.

I love prime rib and tend to eat it on vacation, a lot.

Now, I've not had the prime rib at Yachtsman (although the Boubon Soaked Strip Steak is wonderful!)... I have had it at Concourse Steakhouse, Rose & Crown, and Cinderella's... and the best (far and away) was at Cinderella's. They use just the right spices, and I found that they were the only place that didn't overcook it( medium-rare, a little more on the rare side than the medium). The only way it would have been better is if I could have had some nice wine with it, but other than that it was an excellent choice, and certainly the atmosephere can't be beat! The Prime Rib at the Concourse Steakhouse is actually smoked (and tastes like it... it was NOT my favorite, and I don't think I'd order it again). I have had a wonderful steak at the Concourse Steakhouse, however. Rose & Crown was good, just not overly memorable.

So...
1. Cinderella's
2. Rose & Crown
Last... Concourse

Great suggestions. All the more because I never would have thought of some of these places. Rose + Crown, would never have guessed.

Try Shula's in the Dolphin! Very good meats and terrific martini's!
Rose and Crown is also good. Yachtsman is ok in my book.

I second Shula's. Although I didn't have I saw to young men have theirs delivered. The were about 6 inches thick. It was such an impressive feat on of my tablemates stood and congratulated them. They RAVED about the taste and quality.

very pleasant suprise is the outback (not part of the chain) in the wyndham resort next to marketplace. probably the best service/food/value on property

Not a big Prime Rib fan..always wanted to like it, but nearly every time I order it it's almost 1/2 fat and gristle, and almost always bloody red (no matter how I order it).
Anyhow--I did have it at Yachtsman Steakhouse, and it came pretty close to being OK. A large piece of meat and by Prime rib standards, remarkably fat-free. BUt they had NO horseradish!!
Have read on previous posts that Shula's Prime Rib is an excellent entree.

Shula's is excellent. Bone-in, 32 oz, herb crust while cooking, comes to the table at @ 2 "thick, takes up alot of the plate.
Most excellent.

I vote for Chef Mickey, or 1900 Park Fare... they are both buffets so you can have as much as you want...also includes salads, fish and chicken and boiled shrimp for low carb diet. (my husband is on atkins and loves it both places). IMO-1900 prime rib was very tastey!! PS I also "heard" that if you request sugar free jello, they do try and accomdate, but you may need to call a day or 2 ahead.
