For what it's worth, I'd consider any of these "nice extras" because they can come and go. For example, valet parking is no longer an included perk. The only *real* benefit of DVC that you can count on is that you are getting discounted lodging in return for a long-term commitment and up-front purchase.
I agree with the PP. When considering a DVC purchase, only consider the benefits of getting your rooms using points and nothing else.
All of those other benefits can come and go and while they are nice, especially the AP discount, it could be gone at any time.
We bought last year because we wanted to be able to stay in 1 bedrooms vs. hotel rooms and doing it via DVC made it affordable over just continuing as cash guests and hoping that the discounts continue. Plus, we travel during times when discounts tend to be less (school breaks and summer) so in the end, DVC was a great choice.
The biggest perk for me is that DVC has made my addiction to Disney more affordable, which in turn helps me treat my family and friends to Disney Resort stays.
