What are Packing Cubes?

I placed an order with ebags Thursday, got an email my order shipped Friday. WOW! I asked them about more packing cube colors and the rep said in 4-5 weeks they should more colors available. Just wanted to let y'all know.

We are sailing on our first cruise - the Magic, October 23-30, 2010. I should receive the passport holder/travel companion thing next week. I have seen Braekgood (sp?) brand sold at hallmark stores (Paper Store).

I'm only on page 2 right now in reading. I've seen this thread floating around for a week now and never clicked on it.... until now. I am one of the LEAST organized people I know. I'm an artist, organization is SOOOO not my forte! This looks like exactly what I need to straighten my hiney up! I HATE going places and looking for things that I know I packed. I just can't find them and my suitcases are always looking like I just threw everything in there. They don't look quite that bad when I start but after they fly, they are bad.

I'm going to give thema shot! It can ONLY help IMO.

ANd THANKS to those here that "made me" buy my Baggallini! My BD pressie from DH to me. We each pick our own gifts. It's CUTE and great! I had no idea I was going to smell that great smell of real leather when I opened that bag it was packed in. AHHHHH THANKS for the advice and the OP for posting this!

I was able to quickly put them back in. Not so for the unlucky soul behind me who had to quickly refold things and still had her pink panties hanging out the side of her bag!

I use the folder thingy for my dresses. I treat them just like shirts and they come out of it looking great.

I have been searching for colorful passport covers to color code our 4 passports. I like the Baekgaard brand, pretty lively colored leather. She is business partners with Vera Bradely. So, on ebags.com I came across them after searching for passport covers. Instead of buying 4 at $21 each, I bought the travel companion that hold 4 passports for $30.

EDIT: I LOVE eBags BTW anyway. I just ordered the 6 piece set for under $40 and free shipping. I'm excited to try them out.

This is the best thing ever for hanging over the bathroom door in the stateroom. It is only as thick as your thickest bottle. It has 5 zippered pockets and it keeps everything off the tiny bathroom counter space.

Okay, I'm pondering the idea of buying some of these packing cubes off of ebags. Which brand should I buy? There's the ebags, the rick something-or-other, eagle creek...which is the best? How is everyone figuring out what sizes they need? If you had to pick set to buy off the top of your head, which would it be? The set of 3 larges, set of 3 mediums, set of 3 smalls, set of one of each? I thought I saw yesterday that there was a value pack with a large, med, small and 3 tubes for $36. I can't find it now. I don't know how I'm packing all of our stuff yet, but I thought I would buy a set and see how they work. Deciding is hard though....

My DH told me that they taught them to do that in the military too. Guess I never looked at his packing. He always seemed to be able to find space when I cannot. He's a packing WHIZ!

I know. I should have spared you guys the details.

I had to do one of those repacking situations at ticketing so EVERYTHING got messed up in my bags and I was just happy to get them stuffed back in an not pay $90 for an over 50lb bag. Meanwhile, my carryon looked like heck inside. Everything everywhere. They were going through everything I had with a fine tooth comb. (Read: artist traveling w/ art materials is a HUGE risk ) No more I say! Cubes on the way.... lighter luggage purchased AND a luggage scale for travel. That's a MUST these days!

The large size fit my large rolling suitcase with just a little room on the side (perfect for stuufing socks, belts, & undies). I stacked 2 on top of each other. Now we'll just have to see if they come out wrinkle free or less rumpled than usual!
