Fall decorations: pumpkins, mums, gourds, corn stalks, hay bales. Many also decorate for Halloween: jack-o-lanterns, ghosts, witches, bats, that sort of thing.
Lots of folks around here put out hay bales, corn stalks, pumpkins etc. Then ,as we closer to Halloween, the jack-o-lanterns, scary things, eyeball lights etc start to pop up. I have neighbors who plant or pot mums...that kind of stuff.
We got ours today for the outside of the house. We got two hay/straw bales, seven pumpkins (not for carving), we got some cornstalks, and will get 4 or 5 mums, and I need a new fall flag but I don't think that's the same thing.
I suppose it can be as simple as a jack-o-lantern on the porch or a fall wreath on the front door, or as elaborate as you wish. Some people around here have black and orange lights, not to mention the witch that looks like she flew into a tree, etc. I think the bales of hay and pumpkins look nice, but some people take it a bit too far.
I love decorating for Christmas and since there's pretty much no place in the house left without decorations (I even have stuff for the bathrooms! ) the natural next step was to start buying fall stuff.
I mostly have Thanksgiving decorations. I make a table centerpiece using a cornucopia filled with fake fruit, some mini-hay bales, a beanie baby turkey, and lots of small gourds and silk leaves in fall colors. I also have a few other fall things I put out. We do put pumpkins on the porch, but don't do up the whole yard. We don't do the yard for Christmas either, besides lights on the house, although we probably would if we had room to store the stuff during the rest of the year
I'm not ready for fall. It's still 91 degrees outside. Still have my summery flag out with the iris.
Fall decorations? Like those above. I don't do much, but maybe a wreathe on the door this year with fall colors...oranges, rust, yellow, red. That's it for me!
