We will be visiting Disneyland in a couple months and I'm wondering what apps we should get for our phone for use inside the park. If anyone has used any that you found to be really helpful, please let me know.
I was told about mousewait and downloaded it. I mainly just use it check wait times which are user submitted and time-stamped so you can get an idea of how long to wait. There are more resources on it as well as a user thread for people to talk about the parks and ask any questions in real time that you may have. I kind of just stuck with it a while so I'm not sure what's better. It's available on iOS and Andriod and is free.
I've downloaded disneyland, mousewaits, Disney parks, DL waits and DL maps (all free). We are only planning our first trip so I'm not sure how accurate the waits are. I like the maps for planning and the Disneyland app is beautiful and entertaining, but I'm not sure how helpful it is.
Any app that does wait times was my best friend for the last trip. That being said, depending on your cell service provider, you won't always get reception. For t-mobile, I only had reception in a couple of areas of the park. Texts sent fine, but anything involving internet or phone calls was spotty.
I have downloaded and used all sorts of apps for the park, just to see which one I liked best. Mousewait is definitely the most popular and got even better with their new recent updates. The app includes in-depth restaurant listings with complete menus and food reviews, times for shows in both parks, and a section of resources with things like Disney park secrets. The wait times are also super accurate, even though they are updated by guests. So for a free app, this one is pretty darn good. The official Disney Parks app (also free) is great for their pretty map of the parks as well as their character listings (tells you where and when scheduled character appearances will be happening).
Another one of my favorite free Disney apps is called Mouse Trivia. It is one you can do with the whole family, especially while waiting in those long lines. It will really get you in the Disney spirit and test everyone's Disney knowledge Have an awesome trip!
Last week at Disneyland I used an Android app called "Disneyland Wait Times" which worked for DL and DCA, and the wait times were fairly accurate. Of course, the app uses live input from other app users so it all depends on how many people are entering data. But, it seemed useful for our decision making for ride selection.
