What am I missing if I do MK on a party day

So trying to plan my week. I think the best day to fit in our MK day is at the end of the week. I just realized it is going to be the same day as a Christmas party - meaning we will have to leave at 7. Other than the hours and "value" of the ticket is there anything I am missing if I do MK on this day. We are going to the Christmas party another night that week so we will see Christmas wishes and this is our third trip to the World. We try to do a pre-park opening breakfast so I feel that this will give us plenty of time; however, I just feel off about it :) Thanks!

Our experience going on a party day was actually really good. Those guests without hoppers will typically go to a different park (one with emh) and stay there leaving MK a little emptier. We were able to get everything in with little waits. If you're going to see fireworks & a parade another night, I say go for it :)

we are big fans of going on party day as well. Crowds are usually lower and we have APs so we can hop somewhere else in the evening if we want to or go back to the resort to swim

I also think it's a good strategy to go on a party day, especially if you'll be going to a party on a different night. Crowds tend to be lower, as another poster said, because lots of people skip MK due to the shorter hours.

We visited last year on a party day and crowds felt lighter. We also went to a party another evening so we got yo see what we "missed". I would absolutely do it again, especially if it wasn't my only day at MK.

As others said - you're missing the opportunity to see Main Street Electrical Parade, fireworks, and generally MK in the dark/evening. Since you're seeing all that another night, you're doing just fine. My last several trips have all been in party season and I intentionally plan my MK days on a party day because the crowds are so much lower. I like to plan a dinner (actual ADR, or just a plan to go to a counter service) at a nearby resort any time from 6:30 on, so that were in MK almost as large as possible, then monorail or boat somewhere for leisurely dinner and maybe explore the resort. After that, crowds around MK are greatly diminished, we boat or monorail back, then catch a bus to our home resort with no line, and by then it's fairly late into the evening and we're plenty tired from a long day to turn in for the night.

MSEP does not run at parties, so no the OP will not see that on her party night. But since it's not their first trip they may have seen, and it hasn't changed in years.

I'm looking forward to going on a party day. We have park hoppers and are staying at Beach Club...so the plan is to take the monorail over to Epcot and wander back to our hotel. I am trying very hard to take a relaxed approach to this vacation, which means not adopting an open to close attitude toward the parks (which will wear us all out!)

One thing we have learned was to leave early from MK.

Party goers get in early, 3 or 4. And the park is pretty packed by 5. It took us forever to get down Mainstreet to exit. We were certainly going against the crowd.

But we didn't feel like we missed anything.

Thanks everyone! You've helped me come to peace with my decision . Interesting tip about the 5 pm crowds. Would not have thought of that!

You'll miss the regular evening shows like the light parade, the regular fireworks, the castle show....
