What About AKL For Christmas?

I could go for WL, one of my favorite resorts. but with such a decent deal, not sure I can pass it up! my queston is, does the AKL have the "christmasy" feel to it? for some reason, it does not strike me as such?

The only time we've been to WDW near Christamas was last January for the Marathon and we stayed at AKL. The tree in the lobby was beautiful and the amber and white lights on the tree and the hallways facing the lobby were different from traditional colors but very pretty. They had some lighted decorations on the entrance sign also. For us, not traditional but worth seeing.

THe AKL is incredible and if you have never stayed there....you must!
We stayed near Christmas the other year and it was great. The decortations are a bit different (instead of a gingerbread house, it is a gingerbread African village) but it is beautiful. We loved it and am sure you will too!!!!!

We stay there the week after Thanksgiving. The tree in the lobby is really different ... Christmas"sy" in a different way since the lights are the traditional Christmas Colors. The Christmas Village down by Boma's the last two years has been amazing.... nothing like the Gingerbread one at the GF but very nice. I'm not sure about the "Christmas" feeling at the AKL but we always make trips to all other deluxe resorts to see the decorations .... plus the parks are beautiful ... the Christmas spirit just surrounds you that time of the year. I have never left the AKL at that time not feeling like we really celebrated Christmas but for some it isn't their thing.

on the BRP 5 nights at AKL standard view $714.00 for the 5 nights! I thought it was a decent deal. but I managed to grab the WL instead at 1ooo bucks. not as much of a good deal, but still ok at christmas!

We were at AKL last Christmas and loved it. The decorations were beautiful but very different. THe activities at the resort were wonderful. We could have stayedat the resort for days,(not went to the theme parks0 and been as happy as could be.

Oh ya---except for Christmas Day -----when it was very very rainy, very very very cold and just plain miserable

imo AKL is 10x better than WL. haven't been to WDW during the holidays, but i imagine the whole resort will have plenty of christmas atmosphere. AKL all the way.
