What a rip-off!

I just bought, from the vending machine in our building, a bottled water. (I had one bottle I re-use, but I'm sick and thought it was time for a new bottle anyway...) And I took over my .80 to pay and reached in, and a tiny-mini bottle came out!!!!!!

It's only 12 ounces and the old bottles were ATLEAST 20 ounces the last time I bought them...and THEY WERE .80 THEN TOO!!!

What a RIP OFF!

I'm off of vending machines for a while. A couple of weeks ago, I got a Nestle Crunch bar that had what looked like insect larvae all over it (looked at it under the microscope as I was at work). Of course I noticed it AFTER I got a mouthful of it.

They're making everything smaller now! Did you notice that a lot of ice cream now comes in 1 1/2 quart cartons now instead of 2 quarts and the price is the same!

THAT IS SO GROSS!! I don't usually buy from machines, and now, I don't think I EVER will!

It seems this is becoming a trend...I'm hearing more and more of this going on.

And, I wouldn't even mind paying a dollar, IF I got a dollars worth, but .80 for 12 ounces when you used to get 20??? Jeesh!

You say you're sick and needed a new water bottle?

I read an article about how reusing your own water bottle can actually make you sick, bacteria and such can't be cleaned out, making them a perfect "breeding ground" for germs, even if it's only you drinking from it, it can make you sick.

Back to the topic...I'm sorry you were jipped.

Bottled water is such a rip off anyway. If you had ever told me 15 years ago that someday I would be paying more for water than soft drinks, I would have told you that you were nuts.

lorix2 - I've heard that too, and that's why I do change my bottles often. I just forgot to grab a new one from home this morning. I do re-use my bottles for a week or so. I usually buy in bulk from the store, whatever is on sale.
