Have you ever raved about Disney to your friends and then they finally decide to go and you PRAY that they "get it."

My friend (actually a friend/coworker) has never been to Disney, was anti-Disney, etc. Well, his girls are 6 and 4 and he decided he should go. He was dragging his feet, being very close-minded about the trip for months. He left this past Thursday and I've just been hoping he had a decent time. Well, he just called and they all sound so HAPPY!!! I am just so relieved.

Some reports from him:

He got there on May 5th and I guess the weather was mild. Yesterday (the 9th) the heat kicked in and it has been and will be 87 degrees the rest of the week.

The parks have not been very crowded at all. They did feel that MK was crowded on Saturday and they did get fed up and left early and went to the beach. Other than that, they've been real pleased with the crowd levels.

They just did CRT this morning and were VERY impressed with that. They are real "foodies" too. The 4-year old loved the princesses. Food was good and character interaction was good.

Friend reports that they are working on one of the monorail tracks at the TTC and you cannot get to the MK in the evening from the TTC. Don't know what that's about and neither did he. They had to use the ferries.

After the MK fireworks, they had thousands of people trying to exit out of one 4-foot-wide gate, he said. Not pleasant.

He's staying at the SoG and has one of the renovated rooms. Says the hotel is "nice."

They have been packing PB&J sandwiches, fruit, and water/juice bottles for lunch. Apparently, this has not been a problem.

My friend sounded very upbeat and positive. I'm so happy. But, he says, they are all tired. His kids are making it through the days just fine. No naps or breaks required.

I'm glad they are enjoying Disney.

Now you have to introduce them to the Dis.

That's wonderful! I understand your relief! We are going to WDW with our friends in early June. They've never been before and we really hope they "get it" too!

I did that with a former co-worker. Her DH was going to a conference at the Gaylord Palms and they weren't planning on going to Disney at all.

I was gushing so much about Disney and telling them they should at least go to Epcot because it was Food and Wine Festival and they are big foodies people. I told her that she could get great discounted tickets thru the conference and gave her some recommendations on where to eat and when.

She came back from that one weekend hooked! I mean totally hooked! They were suprised at how much stuff Disney has that are adult oriented. She was amazed that Disney catered not just kids but the entire family and even adults with no kids. She had always thought that Disney was just for kids. Now they're planning a real trip to WDW this fall!

I'm also in the gushing process right now with another co-worker. I've managed to steer him to going in December. We'll see how this one goes.

Kind of makes your nervous though, doesn't it? I was REALLY nervous about telling my friend to go to CRT. I mean, there are just so many mixed reviews on this place. Fortunately, he hit a good day and they loved it. I have to see this guy almost every day and if he had hated Disney (and I have a few Disney-haters in the office), I would have never lived it down.
